~Chapter nine~
{Logan POV}
I opened my eyes. The world was spinning. If felt like someone had kicked me. Not hard though. A kick to awaken me, I guess it worked. But who? I rubbed my head. Why does my head hurt? I feel I'm forgeting something... I had been thinking, untill I screamed "ANNETTE!" out loud.
Where is she...Where is she?!
Wait...where's Mum...
"MUM?!" I called for her but heard no answer. "Oh no. MUM!!" I ran inside. She wasn't there either. She left a note on the counter. "Thank God..." I said out loud.
The note read:
Logan,
I'm so sorry. She's gone, Logan. They took her, the two men. She didn't see me as she left, I don't think she wanted to. She wanted to see you.
I'm at the Phillips's home again. They need milk again. I'm going to Mrs. Davis's home after words. I could be a while.
I love you, Logan. Please don't be too heart broken. I wish there was something I could do to bring Annette back.
Love,
Mum
I felt a tear swelling in my eye. She always knew what to say. There was another note under Mum's. It didn't have a name but I regognized the handwriting from school. Much like Mum's, but prettier, with more strokes and less stops.
I never got to say it to your face, so I'll have to write it in a note.
I love you, Logan, and I always will. Never forget me, I won't forget you. Keep Mum company.
XOX
It was from Annette.
Wow...she said she loves me.
I looked up to the sky, "I love you too, Annette. I'll never forget you, I'll see you too soon for that. You'll find a way to get to me just like you did the first time." I looked back down at the note. I held it close to me, and then set it on the counter carefully. I went into her room.
Looks like it's mine again. After nine years, finally getting it back.
