From a child's eye.
Everything seems clear.
They find no need to lie.
The days drag on.
But for us.
We wish we had an eon.
They can't wait to grow.
To learn how to sling a bow.
Seem to be independent of themselves.
Read every last book on the shelves.
It is time to go out and play.
The child's antagonist comes along the way.
Pushing him down.
On the cold hard ground.
All because to his mother he is bound.
But things are different back at home.
The child's mother is on the line.
Father and mother are not fine.
"Who is it?", the child asks.
For it is the divorce lawyer on the line.
"No need to worry my child my sweet."
Tears are trickling down to her feet.
His father is passed out drunk.
The house has lost the rhythm of funk.
But it's all ok.
The child does not understand anyway.
