Chapter 1: Reality

My name is Brayden Smith. I live in Miami, Florida. I know my last name is very common. Although my family is was actually at power once in where I originate, Czechoslovakia, which is now split in two, but no need for a history lesson.

I am 13 years old, and my life is pretty much an average 13 year old life. I have brownish black hair and brown eyes with fairly tan skin. I go to Pioneer Middle School, a place of dread and books. (I don't really like school that much).

"Brayden!! Your late for the bus!" screamed my mom from upstairs.

"Coming! I'm ready!" I replied equally as loud. I raced down the stairs, grabbed a granola bar for the bus, and ran out the door.

Ms. Elise or Ms. Beaver, as she likes to be called, the bus driver, likes to act like the bus is a train for some reason. She must be missing a few screws somewhere. I guess she is good for bus driver standards. But she is funny, and I like her.

"Toot! Toot! All aboard the bus train!" She exclaimed.

All the kids filed in the rows and I took my usual spot next to Max and Drake, my best friends. Drake is tan, has blonde hair, green eyes, and is the funny one. Max is pale and has black hair with blue eyes. We talked about usual things, like how we didn't want to take our Math test in 3rd Period.

We arrived at school, a bit late. Drake and I have 1st period Science. Max has 1st period History. We all have different 2nd periods and we meet up again in Math class, 3rd period.

I walked into class, sat down next to Drake, and the teacher started talking. Her name is Mrs. Mushroom, and people just call her Mrs. Mush. I really like her, but she can get angry pretty easily. She is in her mid 30s with ginger hair, and green eyes with tan skin.

"Good morning class, welcome back to my class please open your books to page 347." Mrs. Mush said sweetly.

That is pretty much all that happened until 3rd period.

Max, Drake and I sat in our usual spots next to the three most popular girls in school. Their names are Sam, Gabby, and Rose. Gabby has brown straight hair and blue eyes and always wears a cute pink flower in her hair. Rose has curly long brown hair with hazel eyes. Sam is blonde with brown eyes. Gabby acted cool all the time. It kind of intrigued me.

Our teacher, Miss Manda just gave us the Math test, and told us to ask her if we had any questions just to ask her because she had papers to grade.

Our little group of friends usually gossiped during this period, because the girls are the most popular in the school. We gossiped about how Miss Manda and Mr. Becker, the gym teacher who is way out of her league, are getting married and how Chantel and Xander broke up yesterday. Xander is one of my friends and I comforted him a lot yesterday.

After that, we went to lunch where we sat with Xander, Fred, Sandy, and Derek. They all are pretty cool. We chattered about the Basketball game last night and how the Heat beat the Spurs. Also I caught Gabby staring at me for a minute or to, which was pretty cute.

My life at school is pretty good, you could say, now that I think about it.

The rest of school, nothing really happened except work so no reason to bore you.

After the first bell rang, I hopped out of the hallway and waited with Xander for my mom to pick us up because he is coming over again today. If I ever needed to invite anyone else over, it would be ok because we all live in a small part of Miami where every house is within a walking distance of each other.

My mom picked us and we came into the car and greeted my mom. I caught Drake out the corner of my eye giving a kiss on the cheek to Rose and I saw her blush. I smiled as we drove away.
