Staring at him her eyes locked with his, she wandered along his body noticing the way he held his hands, the gel that slicked his hair so tightly, she noticed his clothes how ragged they looked as if he hadn't gotten a new pair in years. His shoes had holes and so did his hoodie but something about him intrigued her. She wanted to say something but didn't know what to say but finally he talked after turning down his music. His music was something that she had never heard or imagined could even be created, it was not catchy and would take a long time to memorize the lyrics but she enjoyed it. When he talked she could hear him but was not listening to his words but the tone of his voice, how he sounded but yet her mind still knew to reply and what to say so she sat there thinking about his voice while her mouth did all the work of talking. Soon enough she found her herself with her hand in his leaving the rooftop that she had met this mysterious boy on. They were walking along the waterfront together now, hand in hand just walking. She would look at him occasionally and he would be looking at her, she felt her cheeks heat up and butterflies begin in her chest but she continued to play it cool. They came across the bridge that connected downtown to the waterfront she usually avoided walking this way into the downtown area because of her fear of heights. At that moment she realized she had not been afraid on the roof and until she thought about it she wasn't really scared on the bridge so she continued to act as if she was not scared. He dragged her to the edge and they looked over an underpass to the next town over was directly below them and she felt like vomiting. She was looking over at him looking over the edge and then he asked, "Do you ever feel like jumping?" This was an odd question to be asked and she never really thought about it so she replied, "No." A simple answer to a simple question. He smiled at her but in that moment as she watched him looking over the edge and she knew that he was thinking about it at that moment. She was worried so she asked if they would keep walking and used the excuse that she was afraid of heights, which was not necessarily a lie. As they walked her hand would brush into his and she was not sure wether to grab it or just let them brush against each other. She decided to let him decide wether they would hold hands or not but she hoped that he would grab hers. Walking she finally brought up conversation, "So, who are you?" Before he had time to answer another easier question was asked, "what's your name, boy of the night? It isn't Dracula by chance is it?" She finished with a smirk. He smiled back, "No, it's uh Jake, pretty lame hey?" She looked at him, "Jake.. Dracula.. Jakeula, aha I've got it. Your nickname is not Jakeula because like Dracula you do not sleep at night." She laughed at her own joke and Jake just smiled. Liv had no idea where they were heading but did not mind one bit, she followed the road and knew as long as she was with her newfound friend she would be okay. Walked around the downtown street they were making there way toward the curling rink and beside that was the local park, it wasn't a park with swings or a slide it was a big forest with trails and wood bridges. She spent some time there when she needed to be alone so she didn't ask but just directed the two of their walking in that direction. Heading on a new adventure already.
