"Tigershade?" Pinestar echoed. Cloudheart growled. "What?" I asked. "Tigershade was once a horrible cat. He ruled all of this place, when I was only pineclaw. I had to do something, so I told the leader before me, sunstar. He killed him." Pinestar explained. "But how is he horrible? What did he do?" I ask. "Well, he killed all cats who were against him, and used warriors to fight terrible battles no cat can even think of." Pinestar said. "Wow. Then why did he come to me?" I replied. "Didn't he tell you?" Pinestar asked. "Yes." I say. "So Dont you know?" Pinestar said. "Yes!" I croak. "Well, okay. I'm going to send a dawn patrol soon, so you should go." He said, then trotted off.
I woke up next to my mother. "jaykit? Why are you up so early?" she asked. " couldn't sleep." I mumbled. "how about you go eat with shadekit?" she said. "sure." I say as I stalk out of the den, careful not to step on swifkit's tail. As I padded out, I saw that thorntail, the deputy, was talking with pinestar. I strained my ears closer to hear what they were saying. " We should really start to send out more patrols of border markers." Thorntail was saying. "Are you sure its necessary? I think its okay that rainclan got closer, because if anything happens we can always fight against it! Ivyclan is not weak!" Pinestar replied. "Okay, but I hope they Dont think that!" He walked away. Riverkit was stumbling out of the nursery, Swiftkit on her heels. "Jaykit! Catch this!" Swiftkit mewed from across the clearing, hurtling a small ball of moss towards me. "Hey!" I shout as Riverkit flew herself at me to get the moss. "Sorry Jaykit!" She called and turned to play. "I'm going to go see leafheart." I say and turn away. Leafheart is the Ivyclan medicine cat, and I love to help her, I've memorized most herbs already.
"Hi, leafheart!" I said as I pushed through the bramble screen that shields the den. "How are you today, Jaykit?" She asked, looking up from her herbs. "Good, like everyday! Tomorrow is our big day!" I replied. "Yes, you will be the greatest apprentice!" A look of concern glittered in Leafheart's eyes as she spoke. "Is something wrong?" I ask. "No, I was just hoping you would join me in the medicine den." She said. "Really? I would be glad to!" I squeaked. "Of course, that is for tomorrow. Go get some rest." She said as I turned away. I'm gonna be a medicine cat!
