Here is a brief summary of what happened before this book.
Alyssa gives birth to twins, one girl, Rebeca, and one boy, Jason Jr. AKA JJ. Alyssa, Jason, and Jess stay in the hotel for a few more years and then end up moving into a duplex. But when the kids are 5, almost 6, Jason leaves the house and takes supplies with him, he doesn't look like he's returning. But there is a little..... um..... how do I say this......... Confrontation. Ya! Confrontation over the phone. Here's that small flash back.

She wants me dead.
So do I.
She thinks I should rot in hell.
But I did this to protect her.... From me...
