Soaring through the sky was best for an angel learning to fly. Pit was just one thousand years old, a toddler by immortal standards. He was no bigger than that of a human four year old. He flew close to the clouds below and skimmed his fingers on the white clouds below. He flipped so his back faced downward and dove below the surface of the clouds.
Angels were forbidden to make contact with humans but Pit was never a stickler for the rules. He heard of humans imitating the angelic creatures and was fascinated by their actions. He landed on a hill far from the town and took a seat by the base of the trunk.
Pit wasn't one to make friends easily. All he had was himself. The other Angels left him alone for work. He picked a ripe peach from the tree and bit into it. He observed the human world with wonder. They walked because they had no wings and that was odd. How did they think they we're close to the gods if they stayed down here?
Finishing off his peach he stands up and flaps his wings at full wingspan. He flapped down and soared above the city. Children pointed up at him but he dare not look at them. He broke through the clouds back to Angel Land. Landing safely on the floating land he visited the goddess Palutena as he did everyday.
Palutena was a very mean woman with a lot of power so he chose to stay on her good side. "Good morning Lady Palutena," Pit greeted bitterly. The goddess looked up from her scrolls and smiled, "Hello Pit. Any new happenings?" The brunet sighed, "How would I know? Everyone leaves me behind because I'm small." She shook her head, "Oh Pit. There's plenty to do."
Her emerald eyes squinted at the young Angel, "You went to the human world didn't you?" Pit stiffened, "No ma'am." She rolled up the scroll and moved closer. She took the hem of his small tunic and picked a cloud speck off it, "Then I suppose you fought a cloud?" Pit hung his head. "Humans are dangerous Pit. It's best not to get involved."
Pit sighed and sat on the marble floor, "I know ma'am."
Humans were to be nothing but pawns to deities like them. Starting wars, making promises, and praying; that's all humans could do.

"That is the last time Pit!" The green haired woman yelled dragging in the now physically ten year old Angel by his wrist. "Lady Palutena! I said I was sorry!" He pleaded. Pit was caught having contact with a human for the twentieth time. "No more human contact! No more flight for you, reckless Angel!" Palutena raised her staff. The temple flooded with light as well as Pit's screams.
When the world returned to its normal brightness Pit laid stomach down on the floor. "I hope you'll learn your lesson Pit," Palutena sat in her stone throne. Pit picked himself up from the floor, "...you witch..." He left the temple and ran for a hot spring.
Pit grumbled on about the goddess, still not seeing the magic she inflicted. He entered a steaming room with a sparkling hot spring. He stripped down to his racer back and undershorts and slid into the warm water. He stretched and puffed out his white wings, noticing less weight. "My wings!" He flapped them out to see they were 3 times smaller than their original size. There was no way he could fly with this tiny wingspan. Pit finished his soak and then dressed in his same old plain white tunic and marched over to Palutena's temple.
Pit stormed in, "Palutena you evil witch! You better turn my wings back! How do I fl-" The temple was empty. "Palu..." a abrupt rumble caught him off guard. He ran to the window to see what the commotion was about.
Lightning struck and coughed those who were airborne to fall with a crash. Stone Angels stood among broken bits of the airborne.
Pit didn't want to become one of them so he hid behind her throne until things settled down outside.
