It was about a month after the whole showdown with Gaea, and Percy and Annabeth finally had some time to themselves. They were sitting on the bank near the lake, listening to the blissfully peaceful, tranquil noises of nature. Somewhere off in the distance, naiads laughed and splashed water at each other. Birds chirped, sensing the calm aura that had settled over the camp.
Percy and Annabeth were sitting together in the grass. Percy had an arm around Annabeth, who's head was leaning on his shoulder. He was making her giggle by using his power to raise water from the lake into the air and make different shapes.
"Hey, watch this," Percy said. He moved his hands slightly and concentrated, transforming the blob of water into a shimmering crystal heart.
Annabeth's smile reached from ear to ear as she looked at Percy lovingly. "Aww, that's so cute, Percy!" she squealed, hugging him.
When she pulled away, Percy had a glint in his eyes - a glint Annabeth knew all too well. "Percy, what - " she began to talk, but was suddenly interrupted.
Percy had moved the water, still in the shape of a heart, over Annabeth's head and dropped his hands. The water crashed onto Annabeth's head, completely soaking her.
"PERSEUS JACKSON!" she yelled, although she couldn't keep a straight face and ended up doubling over in laughter. She wrung her hair out right over Percy's head in an act of revenge.
"Aww, come on, Annabeth!" Percy whined, but he began to laugh too. They ended up running after each other, Percy trying to spray Annabeth with water and Annabeth sprinting around, trying to evade his attacks.
After a while, they decided to do something else and ended up sprawled out in the soft grass, basking in the warm sun, drying off, looking at the sky. They pointed out shapes in the clouds to each other, laughing at their own silly imaginations.
"See, that one looks like a Telekhine," Annabeth giggled, pointing to a white blob in the sky.
Percy rolled his eyes. "Please, that is so not what a Telekhine looks like."
Annabeth turned her head toward him, raising her eyebrows. "Oh really, Seaweed Brain? Well, what does it look like to you then?"
Percy paused, thinking for a moment. "I think it looks like an ice cream cone," he finally decided, chuckling to himself. "Vanilla ice cream with blue sprinkles on top." He traced the outline of the cloud with his fingers, imagining.
Annabeth snorted. "Suuure, Seaweed Brain. You always have food on your mind - blue food especially."
Percy rolled over, facing Annabeth. "You're not much better, Wise Girl. You always have plans and strategies in your head. At least I'm not boring." It was meant to be a joke, but as soon as Percy said it, he immediately regretted it.
Annabeth's stormy gray eyes flashed dangerously, and at first Percy thought he had gone too far. He was about to apologize profusely and beg for her forgiveness before she gutted him like a fish, but suddenly, Annabeth's mouth twitched into a small smile.
She rolled over so she was facing him completely and shifted closer to him. She stared into his sea green eyes and slowly brought her face closer to his. She gently pressed her lips against Percy's in a tender, loving kiss. Percy's eyes widened, but he melted into the kiss. He was powerless to do anything except bask in the moment.
Soon, Annabeth pulled away. Percy frowned, pouting at the loss of contact. Annabeth laughed.
"At least I'm not the one with their mouth agape like a fish; at least I'm not the one practically begging to be kissed again," she smirked, triumphant. "How's that for boring?"
Percy rolled his eyes, blushing at her retort. He knew she wouldn't have let his remark go that easily. She was his Wise Girl, after all.
Annabeth stood up, brushing grass and dirt off her jeans. "Now let's go; we have lunch and then training!" She smiled brightly at him with a look that said "Now we're even" and began to walk away. She turned. "Are you coming or what?"
Percy chuckled to himself and stood up, racing past her. "Race you to the pavilion!"
Percy heard Annabeth laugh and heard her approaching. "Oh no you don't, Seaweed Brain!"
They dashed to the pavilion, where everyone else was just arriving to have lunch. They stopped to catch their breath.
"I think I won," Annabeth said.
"Did not!" Percy said stubbornly, slightly out of breath. "If anything, I won!"
They looked at each other, laughing. "Truce?" they said simultaneously.
"Truce," they replied to each other, leaning in for one last kiss before heading into the dining pavilion to eat.

So, that's it for the first chapter! What did you guys think? This is my first ever story/work on Wattpad - my first time publishing anything ever, really - and I had so much fun writing this (I should have been doing homework, but this was obviously more important XD). Anyway, thanks for any support you guys give, and I'll see you next time I write! It may be Piper and Jason, but it depends on if I get any requests. I might not get many, if any, since it's my first story, but who knows? Give my some suggestions! Thanks again and see you guys next time!!! <3
