Andy's POV
I look at the board, great I'm paired with Sam today. This is going to be a long shift I think to myself. I grab my bag and head out to the car, getting ready to open the drivers side door. But before I get a chance a hand slams onto the door, not allowing me to open it. I look up into Sam's eyes.
"What do you think you're doing?" He asks.
"Ummm getting ready to start shift.?" I say unsure of myself.
"I'm driving" he grunts before he grabs the keys and sits in the car.
I sigh and walk to the other side opening the door and get in.
We drive in an awkward silence. After a while I need a coffee fix. I turn to Sam "hey can you stop so I can get some coffee?" I ask.
He nods his head before pulling over. "Your usual?" He asks. I nod my head and he gets out.
I wait for him to get back when my phone rings. I read the caller ID and feel a grin come to my face when I see its Nick. I answer it "Hey handsome, miss me already?"
I hear him chuckle "Why of course, who wouldn't miss your beautiful face?" I feel a blush creep on to my face.
"So who are you partnered with today?" He asks.
I groan "Sam"
"Aw that sucks!"
" I know, but I was going to have to work with him eventually" I say, exasperation showing in my voice.
"That's okay, because if you have a crappy day, at least you get to come home to me!" He laughs.
"Ohh getting a little cocky there?" I ask.
He chuckles "I've got a surprise for you when you get home"
"Aww babe you know I hate surprises!" I say.
"But this is a good surprise. I promise!"
I sigh. "Niiiiicccckkkkk"
"Annnnddddyyy" he replies back.
I laugh "Fine, but I swear if you push me into another pool, you're dead!"
We talk for a few more minutes.
"K babe well I got to go, so i'll see you when I get home?"
"Yeah see you then, have a good shift!" Nick practically yells.
I feel myself laugh a grin finding its way onto my face.
I look out the window to see if Sam is on his way back yet, and see him just standing outside.
"How long have you been there?" I quietly ask.
"Since you first answered the phone." He replies.
I'm at a loss for words so I simply nod.
"So uh you and Collins?"
I simply just nod my head not being able to respond.
Sam's POV
"Your usual?" I ask Andy.
She nods her head and I get out of the car, walking towards the coffee shop, when I realize I forgot my wallet. I walk back towards the squad car and here Andy.
"Hey handsome, miss me already?"
I feel myself blush, and get ready to reply when I hear her groan "Sam" she says. I peek into the car and see she is talking on the phone. "I know but I was going to have to work with him eventually" She says to whoever is on the other side.
She quiets down listening to whoever she's talking to say something.
She laughs "Oohh getting a little cocky there?" She asks.
"Awe babe! You know I hate surprises!" She says.
Anger takes over. Who is she talking to!? When I find out-
I get pulled out of my thoughts when I hear her sigh out "Niiiicccckkk"
It's Collins, I should have known.
"Fine, but I swear if you push me into another pool, you're dead!" She laughs.
They continue talking but I stop paying attention, I don't even realize that they hung up until I hear Andy quietly ask "How long have you been there?"
I debate on if I should lie but opt on the truth "since you first answered the phone" I say.
She just nods her head in response.
"So uh you and Collins?" I ask.
She just nods her head.
I couldn't believe she was dating that G.I Joe. Yeah I get I told her I had moved on. And that I was dating Marlo now but she couldn't go dating other people! I felt my heart skip a beat. But she could. We broke up.
It felt as if my heart had been ripped out and stomped on. I still care about her.
What have I done!? I need to break up with Marlo and fight for Andy! The girl I love. The girl of my dreams!
I smile to myself, a plan forming. This is going to work. It has to.
