Your P.O.V

I was happily walking my dog, (Y/D/N), walking along the forest path with my earphones in, listening to my favourite songs. It was very peaceful, there was barely any people around here. I walked off the path and into the trees.

I tried to find it but it's been years since I've been here. I think I was 17 the last time I was here. It was the day before my family moved away to (Y/F/C).

Although I liked it there, I always wanted to come back to Ireland. I had a lot of friends or family in (Y/F/C) so I never knew why I wanted to come back.

Who am I kidding? Of course I knew why I wanted to come back.

It was because of Sean.

He was the only person I missed from Ireland. He was my best friend and my boyfriend, but we knew it wouldn't work out as a long distance relationship. We decided not to wait for each other, even though it broke our hearts. I loved him so much.

I finally came across it, it was a big tree that was easy enough to climb and at the top you could get a view of the whole forest. It was gorgeous. Memories came flooding back of me and Sean.

This is where we said goodbye, where our first kiss was, where are last kiss was and even where we first talked to each other on that school trip 18 years ago. I am 23 now and it's March so he would be 24.

But of course, I didn't come back for Sean. He's probably moved on completely from me, but I just wanted to experience those memories again, and being at the tree helped that.

I let (Y/D/N) run around as I plugged out my earphones and started to climb the tree. I reached the top branch were there was the best view. (Y/D/N) was running around trying to catch birds as I admired the view but I turned around, trying to keep my eye on her. I saw a couple turn in the direction of the tree. As they came closer to the tree, they came into view.

I recognised the man immediately. He had a bright green head and a bit of facial hair but I could recognise his blue eyes anywhere.

It was Sean.

He had his hand in another woman's but his eyes were totally fixed on the tree. I pulled my legs up so he couldn't see them. It would be super awkward if I met him with his new girlfriend.

"So, this is were you spent all of your childhood?" The woman asked.

"Yeah, me and my best friend used to hang out here all the time." He smiled.

(Y/D/N) came running up to Sean . I'm surprised (Y/D/N) recognised him, She was a shy dog and she was a pup last time she saw him. I was hoping Sean didn't recognise her, it would blow my cover. Luckily he didn't.

"Aww, hello..." He checked. "..Girl!" He bent down and petted her.

"Is she lost?" The woman asked also bending down to pet her.

"I don't think so..let me check her collar." He scratched around the dogs neck to find it.

"(Y/D/N).... Why does that sound familiar to me?" He asked his girlfriend. She shrugged her shoulders, then her phone started to ring. She answered it and it seemed like a pretty quick conversation.

"What's wrong?" Sean asked still rubbing (Y/D/N).

"Alex fell and broke his leg. He wants me to go see him." She sighed walking over to Sean. "I think you should stay here. You don't want to hear Alex whining." She said entering his embrace.

"Yeah..I think I'm going to stay here for a bit." He sighed looking up into the tree.

"Ok." She kissed him and headed towards the path.
