"Baby, I've got a lot to do for work. I'll be in the bedroom if you need me. But please, try not to need me." He said.

"Okay." I sighed.

"Hey. I'm sorry alright, but I'm busy." He kissed my cheek.

"I know you are." I said.

"Well then, understand that what I do puts a roof over your head. So don't complain." He started at me.

I took a deep breath.

"I know Austin, but I am very well capable of putting a roof over my own head." I snapped at him.

"Mary, don't." He warned.

"You are the one who said something." I defended.

"Mary, I'm just getting my point across. It's not because I don't love you. It's because I've gotta do it." He said.

I rolled my eyes. He never helps me anymore. Two kids are a handful. Especially if you're looking after them 24/7. Welcome to the life of a stay at home mom. Austin refuses to let me work. Though, I did finish college online. It's still a pain to even discuss getting a job with him. He's difficult.

"Stop with the attitude, babe." He said as he shuffled upstairs.

I huffed in annoyance. It's taking everything in me not to scream at him right now. But, Carter and Melody are here and I will not yell at him while they're near at least. I just have to let it go.

Suddenly, there was a bang. Then I heard crying. I rushed upstairs to where the sound came from. Carter's room.

"Carter!" I screamed in shock.

I saw what had happened. He'd fallen off of his bunk bed, what he was doing; I don't know. But all I see is blood and what looks to be a broken arm. I sighed.

Shit!

"Austin!" I shouted as I begun to cry.

He rushed in. "What happ--Carter!"

"We need to take him to the hospital." I said.

----

We were sent into the waiting room will Melody. I sighed.

"This is just what I needed." Austin sighed.

"Excuse me?" I asked.

"Another thing to add on top of my stress." He said.

"Whatever." I rolled my eyes.

"This never would have happened if you were doing your job." He said.

"Excuse me?" I asked anger boiling inside me.

"You have one job. To stay home and be a mother. You can't even do that." He said raising his voice a little.

"Excuse you! I am a mother 24/7. You never help me out with these kids. You were home to. Hell, you were upstairs. Yet, I managed to get to his room before you did. I am a mom. I do my job, and I do it well." I shouted/whispered.

"I don't help out?! Who puts food on the goddamn table. A roof over your heads. Money for whatever you all need? Me! That's who." He argued.

"Austin, who cooks the food? Who goes out and shops for it? Who takes the kids to get the things that they need? Oh yeah, me. And who takes care of the kids? Me!" I argued back.

"I take care of them too! And it's bullshit if you say that I don't." He lowered his voice.

Suddenly, Carter came out with a nurse and a cast on. He walked up to me and jumped into my arms. He hugged me tightly.
