CHAPTER 1 ~ THE BIRTHDAY GUY

"Aargh!", I yelled as I was awoken to the sound of my phone ringing. "Hello", I said in a deep tired voice as i picked up my phone. "Happy 22nd birthday you old ass head!!", my friend

Tyler said so loud I flinched and dropped my phone. I picked up my phone and with what ever will power I had in me asked very angrily "dude what the hell its.. Oh wow great timing, 12:00pm looks like its my

B-day."

Your probably wondering whats going on, let me introduce my self. My name is Alexander Rodrigez (everybody calls me Alex),and as you already know its my 22nd birth day.I am I guess you could say tall for my age , tan skin , sort of long brown hair,and brown eyes. I live in an apartment by myself at Los Angeles, California and that guy on the phone is my best friend Tyler Smith ,I've known the lunatic since 1st grade.

"Dude happy birthday man, so what you got planned for today. I say we go out get some cold ones at the bar and party!" Tyler said with an excited tone.

"Well lets see..first I'd like to sleep, now GOODBYE!" I said then hung up and put my phone on silent so I wouldn't get anymore surprises then peacefully dozed off.

About 9 hours later my alarm clock woke me up. I took a shower . Put on some jeans, a navy blue shirt, some black converse, and a black hoodie . I then brushed my teeth, ate some breakfast, and I headed off to work.

If you're probably wondering why Im going to work dressed in normal clothing it's because I work at a place called CRAZY WHEELS, and CRAZY WHEELS is a shop that sells bicycles,skate boards,etc. and my boss doesn't make my co-workers and I wear uniforms so lucky me.

My day at work went by like any other day just today a couple of the other workers that were there would tell me happy birth day, and one of my

co-workers/friend even gave me some money which I thought was cool.

About after 4 hours of saying "Hi welcome to crazy wheels, my help you with anything" and selling bikes and other things we got ,I see Tyler and one of my other close friends Daniel come in. "Hey whats up man, happy birthday you jack ass!" Tyler said as he gave me a what some people would call a bro hug. "Whats up Tyler and hey Daniel hows it hanging?" I asked as I gave both of them a high five then a fist bump

"Dude you're getting out of work like in 30 minutes right?" Tyler asked.

"Ye.." "Good because the three of us are gunna hang out at my place!" Tyler

said excitedly as he interrupted me.

"Dude its gunna be cool we got some movies,beer, and then were planning on going to the club!" Daniel said as he tried to keep his cool because you see Daniel is pretty geeky so he isn't really the kind of guy that goes to a lot of parties, while Tyler on the other hand is the kind of guy you see always with chicks. I have no idea how he does it but I guess you could say the man's a

genius.

"Alright I'll be there later I still have to work" I said. "Hey Alex is it ok if we just hang here till your shift ends, we could even give you a ride because dude come on you came to work on a bike the least you could let me do is give you a ride to my place." "Ok but guys seriously no screwing around in here, I'd actually like to keep my job"I said with an annoyed tone.

Boy did I learn a lesson that day i had at least $100 taken off my pay check because the two ass holes I call friends broke two skate boards and didn't have money to pay for the damage. When my shift was finally over I left my bike inside the storage room and left with Tyler and Daniel to Tyler's apartment.

"Dude this is going to be awesome," Daniel whispered loudly.

"Shut up," Tyler said as he punched Daniel in the stomach with his elbow.

I tried to ignore what I saw and went on thinking about what we were gunna do. Tyler pulled out the keys to his apartment and as he opened the door and I walked in someone turned on the lights and BAM!!!

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" I was greeted by like 20 or 30 people."Holy SHIT!" I screamed as I jumped back in freight.

Wow was all I thought "C'mon you guys didn't have to throw me a surprise party" I said with a smile on my face. "Of course I had to I'm not going to let my best bro Alex's birthday go by like any other day" "Thanks you guys "I said and then went to party. I saw some friends even my friend Jake, he's the one from work that gave me money. I even saw my younger sister Suisse,who's about 2 years younger then me " hey sis, cool for you to come" I said as I greeted her with a hug. "Are you kidding i wouldn't dare miss this. Oh yeah!"Sussie then pulled out a little gift wrapped box."No you didn't have to get me a gift!" "Oh what ever just take it " Sussie said. "Fine" i then grabbed the little gift wrapped box,opened it and inside was a silver Rolex watch.

"Oh my god thanks Sussie this is amazing, how did you even afford this?" I asked as i put on the amazing watch and gave my little sis a hug. "Oh i just saved up a lot of money"Sussie said with a smile. "Hey thanks a bunch Im gunna go say hi to everyone else ok. HAVE FUN!" I yelled over the music.I continued to talk to people, shared some laughs, and some girls even gave me some special offers on certain things to do but I just denied. I then went up to Tyler who was behind this mini bar he has in his apartment" Dude this party is awesome man thanks" I said with a very happy tone.

"Hey dude any time." Tyler said as he passed me a beer.

The party was awesome! I couldn't have asked for a better birthday party.

But at about 10:00 pm every one started to leave. When finally every one left Tyler and I were just talking while snacking on some chips and drinking some cold beer."Hey man it's getting pretty late,can you give me a ride home?" "alright come on." Tyler told me as he pulled his car keys out of his left pocket.We then got out of his apartment building and got inside his car. I never expected that when I entered that car my life would change forever.

"Hey Alex what do u think of that Becky chick?" Tyler asked curiously while trying to break a silence we were in. "You mean Jessica's friends?" I asked . "Ya!" Tyler said happily "I think shes alright" I told Tyler with an awkward tone. "Ok good! Because I gave her your phone number and that you wanted to hook up with her just that you were to shy to ask her out" "Dude what the hell! I don't even know her, she just showed up with Jessica!" I said angrily as I punched Tyler in the arm. "Sorry man! It's just that you know.You're single and I thought she looked good for you so yeah." Tyler said with an ear to ear grin. " Ok fine but you are going to pay for this som..DUDE LOOK OUT!!!"

BAMMM!!! Right then and there we were hit by a giant semi-truck. All I remember was feeling a ginormous force hit the car which resulted in the car flipping over and rolling down a hill, then I blacked out.
