Tangled Love

Chapter one.

You never know what's going to happen tomorrow. Life is unpredictable, and nothing is guaranteed. Finding love is a simple matter of luck... Isn't it?

I wake up to my phone ringing. I get out of bed, sighing, and answer the phone.

"Hello?" I ask, still tired.

"Angel!" She whispered from the other line. "Where are you?" It was my best friend Rain.

"Rain?" I asked. "Why are you whispering?"

"Because, sleeping beauty, I'm kind of at the boarding lounge right now and everyone's dead silent." She said sarcastically. "Kind of creepy. Anyway, where are you?!"

"I'm in my room and what do you mean you're at the boarding lounge?" I asked "It's only-" I look at my clock that sits on my nightstand, "9:15 AM... Shit! Rain, are you saying that I overslept and am most likely to miss my flight right now?"

"You overslept? Angel! You are so-" She stops herself. "Never mind. Just hurry and come here as fast as you can!"

"I'll try, Rain." I say and hang up

Only you Angel, only you. I say to myself. This
isn't the first time I've done it either.

I grab some random clothes from my closet and brush my teeth while tripping and tumbling to the ground in the process. Screaming at my dad to wake him up and stuffing a sandwich into my mouth. Meanwhile, I grab my luggage and basically fly downstairs.

As I dash out the door with my dad following behind me, I realized I had forgotten the most important thing... Jesse's green striped sweater!

I run back to my room to look for his sweater. "Where is it?! I'm sure I put it here last n- Gotcha!" I run back out of my room down to the car and drive to the airport.

We're walking through the airport looking for Rain.

"Angel, couldn't you have worn something more... Appropriate?" My dad asks.

"I didn't have enough time, okay?" I snapped.

Now, where's Rain?

"Angel, over here!" I hear Rain yell from across the airport.

"Could you carry my luggage?" I asked my dad. But said thank you before he could give me an answer.

I run over to Rain and say hi to her.

"Girl, what took you so long?" Rain asked.

"Well, my foot got stuck in the toilet and then I accidentally stapled my tongue to the wall and..." I said sarcastically.

"You idiot, seriously?"

"Duh! Of course not. You know me better." I start laughing. "I told you, I overslept."

"Riiigghhtt." Rain rolled her eyes. "Anyway, we got to hurry we're running late."

After I said goodbye to my dad, Rain and I boarded the plane.

"You're lucky the flight got delayed or else no exchange for you." Rain mentioned

"I know, I'm a complete ditz." I sighed while Rain laughed at me.

"Oh lord." I cringed my eyes at the bright light coming from the sun.
