I pull my sheets over my head as Theo is knocking on my door

"Aya it's about time you got up and get ready. I need you today for the demo. And you also have an enchanting class today." Theo said in his deep hoarse voice "Ayame get up now!"

I lay in my bed with the sheets over my head, I haven't been to the Metalli-Munitionem Academy in six months. Since, there was a big surprise attack on us near Imber, from one of the werewolves tribes, many dragon riders and warriors were killed and wounded, so we were low on fighters. All the Elders, expect Theo, thought it was a good idea to send me and help rebuild force there, they said, "You are the best dragon rider and fighter we have in this Academy, so we wish you good luck", but the only reason I was the best was because many of the students don't learn how to fight until they are marked to their rightful place, such as Enchanters, Dragon Riders, Warriors, or a Simple. However, since I bear the Howell name I have been training since I could walk, which of course made me more advanced than the other students my age. As I pull the covers off of me I feel the cold chill from the air as I get up from my bed.

"I'm up Theo, you can leave me alone now and go make breakfast." I said as I yawned.

Theo stopped banging on my door and left me in my quiet room; the air is still, but cold, I looked around a bit while I stretched my arms and headed for my closet. As I open the door another brush of cold air hits my skin making me shiver. I grab my black leather pants and a black tank top, along with my brown jacket that I hadn't worn since I've been back. Throwing some thick, plain white socks on, I then  head to the bathroom. I look at myself in the mirror and notice my hair is all over the place; I take my brush through my caramel chocolate colored short hair with a bit of a wave to it, then started my signature braid on the left side of my head. I make the braid tight so it doesn't come loose during the demonstration today. Once, I finish in the bathroom, I head to the kitchen. I hear Theo in the kitchen making breakfast. As I enter into the kitchen Theo has already placed a plate for me on the counter, today's breakfast contained eggs with three strips of bacon, sliced up apples, and a piece of burnt toast smeared with raspberry jam. I sat down on the hard wooden chair with no cushion or back to it and began eating. I stared at Theo for a second or two, he was wearing a tight black t-shirt, which exposed half of his tribal tattoo, along with some black pants which were easy to fight/move in. Theo always tied back his dark brown hair into a little bun that sat on the top of his head. Theo came over with his plate of food and sat by me.

"I sliced the apple the way you liked them." Theo mentioned

"Thanks, but I like my apples whole now." I said sarcastically.

Theo held a blank expression on his face not knowing what to say back. As I took the last bit of eggs I stood up and put the plate in the sink. When I turned around Theo still had his "I don't know what to say" face on him so I cleared the air.

"Theo, I'm just joking, you can relax now." I said with my smile

"You've been gone so long that I forgot how sarcastic you can be." Theo said with a very stern face.

"Theo I've only been gone six months." I said

"Six months is a lot of time, a lot has happened since you've been gone."

"Like what??"

"Well, the top of the class in DR (dragon riding) is now Erica."

"Gross... That's annoying, I never liked Erica, she was always too full of herself."

"She's still too full of herself, she has a long way to go though." Theo said

I looked at the clock, it was 7:00 and said,"I better go and check on Tanvir and get him ready for the day."
