Chapter 4

Jordan's POV

I woke up the next morning to five missed calls and ten texts from Andy. I got up and turned on the shower. I took a quick shower and got dressed in black skinny jeans and a black tee shirt. I blow dried my hair and brushed out the knots. I applied a thin line of eyeliner and walked into my room. I pulled on my black converse and started getting everything I needed for school.

My dad dropped me off at school and I decided to sit in the library until the bell rang. I'm never in here so my hope was that Andy wouldn't find me. I don't want to face him. My fear is that when I see him, he's going to tell me he won't want to be friends anymore. If he's not my friend, then Sky won't be my friend and I'll be all alone.

The bell rang and I walked slowly to art, knowing I'd have to face Andy. I reached class and sat down in my seat.

"Jordan." I heard Andy. I ignored him and kept my eyes locked on the front of the classroom. "Jordan." He repeated, tapping my shoulder. "Jor-"

"Mr. Biersack. Would you like to share with the entire class what you're saying?" Our art teacher asked.

"Sorry." Andy mumbled, slumping in his seat. The teacher continued her lesson and then let us loose to work on our projects.

"Jordan, why won't you talk to me?" I didn't speak. "Jordan, what was that text about? What are you sorry about?" I kept ignoring him and I continued working on my project. I was somehow able to ignore him or the entire class, but he didn't get his project done because he was too busy trying to get my attention. The bell rang and I grabbed my stuff, rushing out of the class.

"Jordan!" Andy exclaimed, running after me. "Jordan! What is wrong with you?" Andy asked, grabbing my shoulder and turning me around.

"You don't want to be my friend anymore and I'm afraid if I talk to you, you'll scream at me and tell me we're not friends anymore and then Sky won't be my friend and I'll be all alone and I still don't know very many people at this school and I can't handle having no friends, not now, everything is just getting worse and I really need friends right now!" I rambled, ending in tears.

"Woah...what?" Andy asked. "Why wouldn't I want to be your friend?" He asked.

"Because I threw up at your house." I said quietly.

"Jordan, you got sick, it wasn't your fault. I'm not going to be mad at you for that. I'm just glad you're feeling better today."

"So, you still want to be my friend?"

"Of course!" He said with a huge smile. We heard the minute bell ring. "Now, we should probably get to class before we're late. Bye."

"Bye." I said as we ran off in opposite directions.

I walked into the cafeteria with my lunch and saw Andy and Sky sitting at our usual table. I sat down and we all started talking.

"Jordan, are you feeling better?" Sky asked.

"Yeah, it must have just been a little bug that passed." I shrugged. "I'm sorry about all that by the way. I had a lot of fun before that."

"Jordan, I told you it was no big deal." Andy said with a smile. We continued to talk about different topics.

"So, Jordan, what did you mean earlier by everything's getting worse?" Andy asked with only a few minutes left in lunch.

"What?"

"This morning. You said everything was getting worse and you need friends right now."

"Oh, nothing. I was just talking. I wasn't even aware of what I was saying."

"Well, we're your friends and if you need friends to get through whatever is going bad, we kind of need to know." He said.

"I told you, I was just talking."

"No, you wouldn't say that if there was nothing going on."

"There is nothing going on!"

"Jordan!"

"Andy!" I exclaimed, mocking him.

"Jor-"

"I have a disease!" I screamed at him. Their eyes went wide.

"A disease?" Sky asked.

"I have to go."

"No, wait." Andy said, grabbing my wrist. "What disease?"

"I have to go!" I said, yanking my wrist from his grip. I ran out of the cafeteria and into the bathroom. I've really messed up now.
