I slowly slip away from my dream, and my eyes flicker open. A blurry shape soon began to form, beams of light shone through my vision. Fox kits face stared down at me with huge eyes. "She finally opened her eyes!" I gave her a confused blink. She leaped up, revealing the nursery behind her. It's walls began to take shape around me. Different shades of green soon transformed into the tightly woven bramble walls. And warm moss lined the dome. "mommy look!" Fox kit exclaimed. I felt the warm lump underneath me shift. A sand coloured cat came into view, she had calm eyes and smiled. My mother, I think, woah all of this is so much to take in. The little sunlight makes her pelt ripple and her fur is sleek, I stare at my chest, it's fluffy just like the rest of my pelt, fluffy.  I wonder when my pelt will look like hers? Will it ever look like that? My thoughts were interrupted by her calm voice, "Welcome feather kit, to thunderclan" she mewed warmly.

My brain started to light up with a million questions. "What's a thunderclan?" I said standing up straight. Warm moss clung to my fur. Sand storm behind me started to lick my pelt and I soon started to relax. "Thunderclan is where we live" she mews, between licks. "Thunderclan is the best clan!" Fox kit says with excitement. She has orange coloured fur, practically resembling a fox. Her eyes are a striking shade of green and they glow with excitement. I stare down at my pelt. It's fluffy and the colour of the moon, it's a light shade of grey, but as I examine it closely I discover dark grey splotches a bit like a puzzle. "I wonder what colour my eyes are" I blurt out awkwardly. Sand storm stares at me with her glowing amber eyes, "they're blue my dear, like winters ice" she meows.

" Come outside now!" Fox kit groans, dragging her tail across the soft nursery  moss. Outside! I think, "there is more?" I mew curiously. "Duuuuh" she replies. I bounce out of my nest, and soon realise we aren't alone. There are other she cats and kits in the nursery. One of the kits is so tiny, she almost blends into her mothers pelt which is cocooned around her. Fox kit jumps around with excitement "Let's go!" She shouts, starting towards the narrow exit, I follow curiously. I watch as fox kit reaches the entrance she crouches down under the entrance and gives a surprised mew. I lean over her shoulder to get a glimpse but I only get a whiff of cold breeze before sandstorm grabs fox kits bushy tail and hurls her back inside the nursery. I hear a cry of dismay just before, I am too jerked into the air and dragged back to my nest. Heat floods my fur and when I regain my feet I stare down at the mossy floor with embarrassment. Fox kit gives sand storm a long and loud lecture about how she deserves to see thunder clan, and about not ever again touching her tail. I just back into a nursery wall and sit there, until I feel like I've melted away.

I wake the next day to the thunder of rain on the nursery roof. A few droplets have managed to escape it's woven brambles. I snuggle up closer to sand storm, her warmth radiating into mine. I can feel foxkits rise and fall of her belly. I decide to slowly get up. I try to be a careful as I can, not to disturb the ground beneath me. I slowly tiptoe around sleeping cats until I reach the entrance. I crouch down under the arch way and a warm feeling fills me. A smile spreads across my face. Every thing looks so beautiful. Every thing is so green, I think I can see two dens ahead of me and to my side a huge rock. A fallen tree lies behind the Rock and moss cling to its bark. I watch as the water droplets begin to slow in the morning light, and as the sun rises the drops shine. I look up and see the greenery stretches in a protective circle around the camp. A rainbow stretches across the sky and I hear the birds start to call.

I soon notice that there is a wall if brambles stretching around the clearing. Behind the bramble wall is endless trees, well as endless as i can see. I hear the hush of voices coming from behind the wall. Invaders! Is my first panicked thought. My fur stands up straight and my hackles rise. The bramble wall starts to shake, I then notice I am too shaking. I sink to the ground trying to make me as small as possible, the moss provides comfort to my shaking body. I then see a small patrol of cats emerge through the entrance. They look relaxed and all muffle words too each other, they have prey hanging from their jaws. I stand up now, my head cocks to the side with curiosity. I watch as they walk towards the middle of camp and put the fresh prey down in a pile. They lay down, start grooming as chatter fills the camp. A large orange cat looks my way, and starts toward the nursery. I stare at him confused. Cats start emerging from dens behind him, they stretch and head to the middle of the clearing. Looking back at the orange cat he has a warm smile spread across his face. He beckons me to come closer, after a while I take a tentative step forward. With the sun shining down on his pelt it gives the effect of fire. His eyes glow a striking green colour just like foxkit. He comes to a halt. "You must be feather kit, I'm fire star your father"
