"I can't do this, Jeff!" A dark figure said sadly.
"Well.. you have to." A deeper voice replied. One of the figures sighed, and stepped out of the shadows and onto the pavement, lit up by street lights. It was a female, with locks that were brown as the falling leaves. She was holding a baby, who looked to be no more than a year old.
Then, a man stepped out of the shadows. His skin was as white as snow, and there was a perfect smile carved permanently on his face.

They walked together up to a little tan house. The girl sighed again, and wiped the tears falling down her face.

"I've been watching them," the man said. "They seem like good people."

The girl nodded softly, and kissed the baby on the cheek, as the man banged on the door very loudly.

When she saw the house light up, She placed the baby on the mat on the porch, and they both ran back to their hiding spot. A man flung open the door, and a woman followed him.

As They pick up the crying child, the girl whispered

"I love you, Emily."
