5. Power Draining

Kaitlyn's POV

Today was the day. I would no longer be an immortal and therefor shall die. I never really needed my powers, but taking away my life was just cruel. I decided that I'd go for trying to get the flower in my remaining 24 hours though.
It was strange: I never thought that I would've excepted my fate so easily. My parents were trying-and failing-not to cry. No matter how many times you tell them it's okay, it's really not.
There is always a little pain behind every "it's okay" so that's how I understood my parents. They knew I wouldn't be okay if I couldn't get the flower-which I probably wouldn't.
         ( little A/N: thanks romantic__chemicals for voting on this. It's kinda the only reason that I'm continuing it right now! :'3 )
          As I walked down the hallways with Shile by my side, in our graduation dresses, I took a deep breath and sighed. I looked over at her. She looked over at me, and gave me a nervous smile and a thumbs up for encouragement.
        This made me feel even more guilty: I couldn't believe I ever thought she'd let me go so easily. It made me ashamed, it made me feel as if I deserve this.
         When we arrived, Nightmare Shadai was waiting for us and smiled. It looked so warm and pleasant. But she was a horrid person and I knew that.

Shile's POV

Kaitlyn is so brave, was all I could think. I'd never be able to do anything like this. I was shivering at the thought of it. Never mind actually doing it. But no, Kaitlyn just stepped forward and said, "I'm ready."
         Lady Nightmare was already standing as she said it. She gestured for us to follow, but stopped me on the way.
"Wolfer, are you sure she's ready?" I nodded. "Yes, M'Lady. I made sure of it." "Good. Now, come sit, Dog."
I nearly growled at that. She was such a wicked person. I wandered whatever happened to her to make her this way.
Kaitlyn and I walked into the room where it would happen. I gave her another smile, as one last sign of hope. She smiled back, anxiously. Then she looked up at Lady Nightmare, who flicked her fingers.
At first nothing happened, but then a blast of power fizzed around Kaitlyn as she practically corrupted into it. Her body rose, then fell. Her aura blue now seemed more dull and less vibrant. ( same thing )
She gasped for breath as her eyes were still shut. She was biting back the pain for now, but eventually it got more than she could chew and she let a shriek out of her. Piercing the air like a knife.
Then she gasped again and again, until finally, she fell to her knees. A ball of energy floated out of what used to be a pure golden heart. Now, it was probably rusted and broke.
Lady Nightmare rose her hand as the ball of energy floated towards her. "Thank you for your time," she said as she walked through a different door, away and probably rushing off to feed her master. I ran over to Kaitlyn.

Kaitlyn's POV

As Shile rushed over to me, she was on the verge of tears and all I wanted to do was say it's okay, that I'm okay, but that would be lies. I didn't want to lie to her.
"Are thee okay?" She cried. I tried to nod, and grunted a "yes." I don't think she believed me though. When I finally had the energy to talk again, I said "the flower."
Shile looked confused. "What about it?" She asked. I looked up at her with the most seriousness I've ever had, and replied: "Let's go get it. Now."

From now on its going to be in hours, like next part will be hour 1, with a name to it as well and the chapter after that might have a slight time skip like hour 3, then the name.
