"Daniel, are you serious, you really want to be my assistant?"
"Why not, I'm ready for a new challenge, plus I think it was would be nice to see the workings of a magazine from the other side, plus, surely after all this time you'd like to get your own back after the way I treated you when you first became my assistant."
"Daniel, that was a long time ago, we both know why your father hired me, I watched you changed over the years, you are not the same person now compared to back then."
This was a regular conversation that happened between Daniel and Betty since he arrived in London. It had been a week since he had got here, they had met up a few times for food. Betty never thought that Daniel would actually want to be her assistant, he was editor in chief of mode, of course it was owned by his late father, Bradford, everyone at Mode knew how Daniel got his job, and she knew Daniel would admit it as well.
Betty had always questioned why Daniel wanted to stay in London, she kept thinking about what Claire said to her at her leaving party, was that why he never came to say bye to her. Betty shrugged the thought off, and got back to the matter at hand, Daniel wanting to be her assistant, after all she did tell him she was in need of an assistant, and him replying he might submit his résumé, though she never thought he was actually serious.
"Daniel, I've got an idea, instead of being my assistant, how about I hire you as a consultant, share your knowledge and all that."
"Sure, sounds good to me."
"9am Monday, come by my office and we'll sort it all out then!"
