The green of the grass and foliage blurred together as they sped down the road. Ellana sighed as she pressed her forehead against the clod glass. They had been traveling for hours and she had been unable to rest. Every time she came close they hit a bump that jolted her awake. She had pleaded with her mom multiple times for her to stop at an inn so that they could all rest, but all she would ever say in reply is 'no we are not far enough yet,' or 'he'd find us, we are not safe yet.' Ellana did not have her driver's license, as her father had seen no reason for it, so there was no chance of switching out for her mother. Plus Ellana had no idea where they were heading, which means that even if she could she would have no idea where to go.

When she questioned her mom where they were going to go the only thing her mom would say is somewhere far away. In which Ellana would reply with 'How long?' After that her mother would not say anything, almost like she had not heard Ellana. Of course Ellana knew she had, her mother just choose not to reply. Turning in her seat she glanced over her shoulder at her brother Bane who was passed out and showed no signs of waking up. She wished she were a little girl again, when nothing fazed her. When she could sleep at anytime, anywhere.

Chewing on her bottom lip Ellana turned, wiggling around in her seat in order to get comfortable. She finally found a position in which she was comfortable- for the most part. Her knees where pressed up against the glove compartment, and her head rested on the pillows that had been placed on the center console. The only thing that made her uncomfortable was the way she had to twist her body in order to find a somewhat decent position.

Of course after she had settled into her new position and her head rested on a soft surface, she was not awake much longer. Not when the warm air from the heater caressed her, enveloping in warmth. She had fallen into a deep slumber not five minutes later.

The thing that had woken Ellana up was the constant rocking of the car. Furrowing her brows together she forced her exhausted body to sit up. Ever muscle in her back protested, making her bite back a groan. It wasn't until she had fully sat up that she opened her eyes. Only to shut them moments after from the blinding light that shone into the car. Ellana blinked her eyes repeatedly until she had adjusted to the bright light for the most part. That was when she realized that the bright light was they sun. When she glanced at the clock her eyes went wide.

"Ella! Ella, mommy said that we are getting food!" the sound of her joyous young brothers squeaky voice caught her attention. Glancing over her shoulder at her brother, before looking at her mother. The look on her moms face said it all, she didn't want to stop but she also didn't want to starve her children. Glancing out the window all she seen was woods, for miles that was all there was.

"Where? There is nothing except woods," Ellana looked over at her mother expecting her not to reply like she had been doing the whole trip.

"We aren't far... Maybe fifteen or twenty minutes out of this small town I know of. Then it's maybe a hour drive from there to our destination." Ellana toke in the expression on her mothers face, and the only expression she could read was relief. She wished she knew where they were going, and where they were. They had been traveling for over twenty-four hours; her mom hadn't gotten a wink of sleep. It was clear by the bags under her eyes that had begun to form.

"Mom, where are we going?" Her mom glanced at her momentarily and sighed. When she turned back to face the road Ellana thought for sure that she wasn't going to reply, but to her surprise she did.

"A place I haven't been to since I became Luna of your fathers pack. A place I have been to since I was eighteen, my home," her tone was soft and filled with raw emotion. Ellana could tell that she was conflicted, because it had been do long since she had been home.
