Get up. Go serve. Go home, sleep. Every single day of my life.....why? "Fern get back to work" Lord Henry shouts hitting me upside the head, I slightly whimper rubbing my index finger on the injured spot. My eyes direct to my work, I was washing the window Lord Henry was good at two things throwing drunk parties, and strictly ruling. "Fern I could use some help with the cattle" Iris a small, brunette, pigtailed, freckled face, bright personality, girl asks. "Um s-sure" I whisper getting up. My long hair was pulled into a braid it hit me as I turn around. "How many hours do we have left of work" I ask quietly. "Two more hours" Iris answers. I look down in disappointment, "cheer up we find out in an hour if Pine Peak signed with O'khasis...we can only hope our lord was smart enough" Iris laughs. "For once" I sigh,why...why do we have to live in these conditions? I head out to the farm area filled with servants of all ages and genders. Some girls were slacking behind the barn. Reluctantly I click my boots against each other and get to work with the cows.
One hour of cows and mooooooooo
"Attention attention I would like all servants to report to the main house" Lord Henry seemed to call out for a few miles. "Let's see what his decision is" Myla a servant my age calls out amongst the crowd. All the servants rush to the main house waiting for Henry to speak. "Hello servants, as many of you know we have been deciding whether or not to sign an alliance with O'khasis. I quietly whimper my ears and tail tensing up as the word was said. "And the answer is yes, we will and I have a special surprise for all my servants...the second son of O'khasis, Zane Ro'meave" Lord Henry chuckles clapping. A guy with blue eyes and black hair steps onto the stage, two guards with him. I could feel all my bones tensing up. "Hello Pine Peak servants, as you all may know I am the second son of Garte my brother, Garroth unfortunately ran away due to unknown circumstances, I want to sign an alliance with Pine Peak and me and Lord Henry agreed that it shall be by marriage" Zane says petrifying me. I began shaking with fear. "I want the following girls to line up here, Rachel Devere, Selah Hillah, Georgia Olie, Michi Kings, and last but not least Fern Lynette" Henry calls out amongst the crowd. I just about faint.....no no no this can't be happening...no no no why me....? Everyone looks at me, Rachel, Selah, Michi, and Georgia. We all slowly walk up to the stage. My cloak hid my wolf features, some of my ash brown hair was visible on my shoulders. We all stood in a line knowing one of us with soon face certain doom. Zane looks at all of us with a look of disgust, that stops when he looks at me. My stomach begins to knot as he walks over to me. "And you're" he says with a disgusting ring to his voice. "F-Fern" I whisper quietly. "Hm how old are you, Fern" he smirks. "Seventeen" I say biting my lip. "Henry I made my decision I will marry Fern" Zane smiles. Can I die...right now please Esmund.....please...Menphia....Enki....Kul'zak.....Irene? I'm screwed....."okay" the lord agrees. "I'll take her back to O'khasis tomorrow" on that note I ran off the stage tears coming to my eyes. "No no no no no no" I cried running into the forest. I found a low branch and sat down. I don't have family I don't have friends I don't even have a house...O'khasis despises wolves I'm dead I want to die I need to die....or run away. The Tu'la region is no longer safe.....I have to get to Scaleswind it's a little less corrupt but ugh... The birds in the distance scatter as night falls thickly. "Hm" I sigh taking off my cloak exposing my ears and tail. The wind blows my hair in opposite directions. Rain lightly falls leaving dew drops in my hair. A storm clouds Pine Peak village. Howls and barks fill the cold night sky I wish I had a family to go to.... I-I have to make it to the Ru'an region tonight!  I grab my small bag containing very little things and run through the cold forest.
