Prologue - It's Complicated.
I unlocked the door to my house, & went inside. The first thing I saw was my brother crying on the couch. I ran up to him. "Alexander, why are you crying!? Where's mom & dad?" I asked, getting worried. He stood up & turned away from me. He faced me again & started yelling,
"Mom & dad got in a car crash & it's all your fault! They left to buy a new phone for you because you had begged them all month long, and crashed!"
I gasped. "Are they okay?"
"They're dead, Saphire! They're dead!" He yelled, then fell to his knees & started sobbing.
Everything became blurry. Tears fell down my eyes. Everything started spinning, & I couldn't breathe. I started crying loudly. I walked up to Alexander & fell on my knees in front of him. I raised my hands to hug him, but he pulled away, & stood up.
"Get out! Get out! I never want to see you again Saphire! Just leave!" He yelled.
"No, Alexander please." I cried.
He shook his head, & pointed to the door. I slowly stood up & opened the door. I looked back at my 20 year old brother one more time. Then walked out the door for the last time.
