Sunlight shining in my eyes wakes me up. Slowly, I blink until I focus on the dust in the light floating above the bed; no one closed the curtains last night. I'm tangled in the sheets against Sans, he's still sleeping, quietly snoring. He seems so peaceful. His arms are wrapped around me and my head is snuggled under his chin. I blink a few more times and shift slightly. And then he does too. For a second I think he's going to roll over but he nestles his face into the top of my head, not opening his eyes.

"Sans..." I whisper quietly.

"Just let me have this moment," He says quietly, "Please."

I close my eyes again.

"You never know when you'll lose it all," He breathed his voice barely audible, "You never know when it might reset. I'm so afraid it's going to Frisk. I'm so god damn afraid..."

I feel like I'm crying and falling apart and I feel so many things and I don't know why. I don't understand how this could all happen so fast. How I'm here with him and how he's making me feel. I never knew this side of him. I never knew so many things.

I swallow the anxiety building in my throat, "I know."

The sound of footsteps on the stairs breaks the mood, "Sans!" It's Papyrus.

Sans sits up and is at the door before Papyrus can knock, "Yeah?"

"It's almost eleven o'clock! You need to get up Sans, have you seen the human?" Papyrus looked over Sans' head and seen me sitting on the edge of his bed, his cheeks flushed bright pink, "O-Oh um, I... I..."

"It's not what it looks like bro, really. She had a bad dream so she fell asleep in my bed, seriously. Also I hope you don't mind if Frisk stays with us for a while," Sans rubbed the back of his head.

"Very well, Frisk may stay. I made breakfast if you're hungry," Papyrus looked at me again and walked away.

"This should be interesting," He sighed and walked to his closet, "Did you bring any clothes in that back pack of yours?"

"I did, but not a lot. I didn't plan on staying long, but I think I might be staying longer than I had assumed. Especially with whatever went on yesterday at Grillby's. I think we should look into it," My voice sounds foreign to me.

"Do you think that's a good idea, yesterday you were pretty upset," Sans changed his shirt and threw the one he had on into a pile on the floor, "I don't want another last night-" He paused, "Actually yeah let's look into it."

I frowned, then smiled, "You thrive in my misery, hmm?"

"No, I... um... Okay yeah, moving on," Sans opened his bedroom door, "Coming?"

I stood up and followed him out.

-----

Papyrus was sitting at the kitchen table eating pancakes alone when we came down stairs. He perked up as we approached the table though, "I'm glad you decided to join me Sans, you too human," He smiled and we sat down.

I didn't eat very much, I mostly picked at my food, Sans' words echoing in my head, last night replaying over and over, the nightmares. I was a mess; I couldn't concentrate on anything.
