"C'mon, Hailey! Keep your eye on the ball!"
She was up to bat. She was going to get a home run! She was going to run as fast as she could and be happy about it.
She could hear Nathan cheering her on.
She smiled.Nathan was her best friend. She met her 3 days after her 12th birthday. He was her favorite person.
Nathan helped her through tons of hard times. And she would never forget them.
The ball came speeding towards her as excitement rushed through her veins.
She smacked the ball and speeded towards first base. After she had passed first base, she went on to second. She saw the base coach at third tell her to wait. She stopped spot on on second base a millisecond before the second baseman caught the ball.
She looked at the crowd, happy to see Nathan with a big smile on his face. He was clapping hard and jumping up and down. He had a cow bell in his hand.
The cow bell was her little thing. When Nathan was in baseball (he finishes 2 weeks before Hailey's first game), she used the cow bell so Nathan would know it was her cheering. Well, this season, Nathan decided to return that favor.
