I take a step on the block walking to school. I hate school it is where all the groups think I'm an outcast. They think that I am just a weak link. Ever since my parents told me they were having a baby 8 and 1/2 months ago they all started talking about me.
It is very uncomfortable hearing whispers immediately stop when I walk in a room. Having eyes watch me everywhere I go.
Liz is my BFF we have known each other for ever ,but that all changed last week. She is now my ex BFF. She started gossiping about me. Every secret I had ever told her.
Basically that is high school for you. I'm 1 block way from my school so far so good. Then I hear him.
"Yo baby lover where's dat cash you owe me" Duffy Mando the worst bully in the entire town of Sumatra.
I start running hoping he won't catch me. No matter how fast I run I smell the cigar sticking out of his mouth. My heart pounds faster as the hairs on my neck stand up. He is not alone.
I forgot all about the twins Marlin and Fungo Hick. They pull out in front of me blocking my trail. Duffy catches up grabbing me by the collar.
"You either pay up now or..."
"Now Mr.Mando apologize to This fine young lady immediately also you now have 6days of detention. Ola, go to the nurses office and get your neck checked out" Mr.Lucite yelled at him. Thank the gods he was running late or I would be pretty beat up.
As soon as he let me go I ran panting towards the school. Even if he is tough he definitely is afraid of his parents finding out. Mr.Lucite has the perfect connection and he did not not want to press any buttons.
I walk into home room late. Seconds later my name is announced on the intercom.
"Ola I said go to the nurses office. Now." I walk out the door as all the kids laugh.
I walk into the nurses office and unbutton my top button. She takes a small flashlight and starts looking all over my neck.
"Alrighty then you look ok on the outside can you open and say ahh."
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
"Ok then you are good to go"I could have told her that an hour ago but nope she insisted on checking me out.
I start walking down the hallway when the principle tells me to go outside and get in the car with my dad ya da ya da ya baby.
"Wait baby my mom is having her baby"
"Yes, now go"
I sprint out the door and hop in the car. My mom is already at the hospital so it is just me and my dad.
