Today was just a normal day for me. Usually, I don't wake up this early but I guess every day is different. Today, I'm going to Crêpes Coffee House to do my work and studies. I go there everyday. It's my sanctuary. I don't have too much work but I have enough to to keep me busy.
As walk into the shop, I get a whiff of freshly brewed coffee in my nose. Nothing beats the smell of coffee beans and sweet pastries. I have different orders depending. On days when I desperately need coffee in my system, I'll get a grand (large) praline latte with soy milk and a pastry. The rest of the days I'll get either a petit (small) or moyen (medium) latte with a pastry.
I hop out of my car and find a place to sit. I got settled and hurried to the line. When the lady in front of me was done I saw a new worker. I'm a regular so this was going to be interesting. I though she was pretty cute. Will, what are you thinking? You just met her! Just go up and act normal.
"Good morning! How may I help you?" She asked.
"I would like a small caramel latte with soy milk please," I responded.
"Is that all?"
"Yup!"
"Alright, your total is $5.68. Would you like a receipt?"
"No thanks! Are you new?"
"Yeah, today is my first day. Do you come here often?"
"Yeah! I come everyday!" Will said.
"Really? What do you do to keep your self occupied?" She asked.
"School work and editing."
"Nice, well you seem really interesting!"
She takes out a piece of paper and writes something on it. She folds it and gives it to me.
"My name is Sydney by the way! You?"
"Will."
"Well Will, I hope you have a great day! Your latte should be out soon."
"Ok."
I wonder what the paper says. I open the small piece and it says:
Sydney: 577-478-3964
Text me! xo
How did I get her number that quick?? I mean, HOW?
"Will, your latte is ready!"
I walked over to the counter to get my coffee and my eyes met with her beautiful, brown eyes. I looked at the coffee and it had latte art. It was a heart.
"I love you a latte!" Sydney said.
