♠Chapter One- Cinderella♠
A woman sees him on another televisions show. Benjamin Jones.
So she flips the channel.
Same process, everything seems to be about him, so she just turns the television off.
The blacked haired beauty wonders what would have happened if she had just stayed with him.
She gives a shrug and shakes her head. After he left for America, she didn't receive one call, or text, not a message on Facebook, or even an email.
But then again, she thought, why would he.
It had been five years, she had grown up and had realized that she was just a love struck teenage girl.
He was an international sensation.
She had been seventeen, naive, looking for something. Anything. And she found him.
He had been hiding in a clothes rack in the mall, she had tripped over his foot, yelled at him, got attention from the crazed fans he was hiding from, and this and that happened and she fell in love.
They had troubles, and his life seemed too crazy for her. Plus he had to leave all the time, and was going to be in America for the next year and a half.
They broke up and she never heard from him again.
She had tried to move on in life, she threw herself into work and became a successful wedding planner business, had amazing friends, moved to Melbourne, but everything around her reminded her of him. He was everywhere.
Now there were rumors of him and his girlfriend were now finances.
And they were coming back to Australia for their wedding.
The silence in the house is broken with the ringing from her mobile.
"Hello?"
"London Eve! Where the heck are you? You have a meeting with the anonymous client today!"
The loud and boisterous assistant manager yelled into the phone.
"Alright Charlie! I'm coming, I'm coming! Besides, you can't start without me, remember, I control your paycheck!"
"Evie! You're so mean to me!" The fully grown man whined into the phone.
"Oh you love me. I'll see you in 15." She hung up and ran to grab her last minute planning binders.
She checked her appearance once more. She had a terrible feeling about today. But she looked confident enough to pull anything off.
Her critical eyes scanned over herself. Hair done professionally in a bun, natural make up, white blouse and black slacks, and her favorite red pumps. Yep. She could do anything.
She ran out of her condo and down the street.
The woman was smiling when she entered her building.
It always made her happy to see the building she made from the ground up, all by herself.
It was her baby, her love, her life.
"Morning Marcus!" She waved to the delivery boy and he smiled and nodded back.
London, or Evie, as everyone called her now, made her way to her office. Greeting her employees along the way.
"Morning Jake! Hey Maddy! Yo! Chris! You still owe me forty bucks!"
Evie turned around to face her best friend.
"Well hell-oh bea-u-ti-ful!"
"Hello yourself Charlie."
"Oh hi there Evie, didn't see you there. I was too busy saying hello to that beautiful man reflected in the mirror, oh wait! That's me!"
"Love you too Charlie." Evie loved her best friends, even if he batted for the other team. As he so puts it.
"Whaddaya got for me today Charles?"
Charlie only scowled.
"Charlie. Charles was my father."
"Yeah well you called me London today so payback baby!"
He only rolled his eyes at his boss' childish behavior.
"You have the appointment with that anonymous couple at 9 and then you have to meet up with Mike to make sure he can deliver the cake on Thursday.
After that you need to come back here and meet with Christy. You know she's being fussy about the color scheme and you need to make her pick a song. Lastly, you have a dinner scheduled with me, because I can see your stressed."
He knew her so well.
"Pizza? Please?"
The brunette just looked at her and chuckled.
"Anything for you Cinderella. " he came up and hugged her.
To the outside eye, they would look like an adoring couple. To their friends, they were the closest thing they both had to family.
"I can't even keep up with all your nicknames anymore."
"Well you know why I call you Cinderella! You met your prince once, and he only got a fragment of you. You're no damsel in distress, and you're a hard worker. You've got the sweetest soul and, well frankly, you're obsessed with your shoes."
"Ha I cannot deny that. But Charlie.... the clock struck midnight long ago. And this time, there is no fairygod mother. Besides, its more like I'm the prince and he's the princess. I'm the one trying to find a replacement. But none of the guys fit the freaking shoe, while he's out getting married! My fairytale sucks."
"Oh hush. Come on, its almost 9, we have an appointment to keep. Let's go your highness!" Charlie pointed onward, and quickly grabbed Evie and threw her onto his back. He galloped off with the entire staff laughing at them.
One of the female staff managers spoke up. "Its a shame he's gay, they would've been perfect together."
"Yeah, definitely better than her last relationships."
"Do you think she'll find someone soon?"
"For her sake, and Charlie's, I hope so."
