ALFONZO
Alfonzo hurried over to the medicine cabinet to get more aspirin for Angelo. "I wish Charlie were well so he could do all this lovey-dovey housekeeping stuff. Why must this all fall on me?"
Angelo groaned softly from his spot on the ice blue bed in the corner of the room they were using for and infirmary which held three beds, two of which were filled. On the purple bed across the room from Angelo lay Charlie, a copy of "To Kill a Mockingbird" from the bookshelf across the room sitting on his lap open to a page about 1/4 of the way through the book. Charlie had never really read much before, but had taken it up since his injury because he had been quite bored not being allowed to clean or cook or do anything else a little brother should do.
The other bed was empty, although it may or may not be filled soon by someone dying from a pile of cats clawing open their skin and carefully dissecting their body with the dissection scissors, but not the scalpel unless absolutely necessary, that would of course force Alfonzo to do even more work. This could very well happen soon because everyone else was in the room next door having a meeting about who would leave to go get supplies and what supplies they would get. Alfonzo was told that he needed to tend to the sick instead of attend the meeting because he could not leave anyway.
This only made Alfonzo's mood even more rotten. He scowled as he flew over to the medicine cabinet. He reached in and grabbed the white bottle and unscrewed the cap. The cap came off easily but then the bottle flew out of his corner tassels--which he used as hands--and tumbled to the floor where all of the little red pills rolled all over the floor.
"Charlie!" Alfonzo called. "Give me a little help here!"
"What'd you do this time?"
"Just come here!"
Charlie groaned as he got up from his lavender-purple bed across the room. "Alfonzo! Can't we trust you with anything?"
They both bent down to pick up the pills that slid around the floor and Alfonzo had to chase because strict orders from Cassandra restrained Charlie from doing anything that involved movement for two weeks.
"Get me the aspirin!" Angelo grouched bossily from his location on the bed.
Just then Cassandra came into the room and said "Julio and I are heading out to get groceries and weapons because the food for the residents here really sucks. There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this building while we are gone," she said jokingly.
"I can teach you to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper on death. Spoken by Severus Snape." Charlie replied to a slightly impressed Cassandra face. "Try not to be mauled by a huge pile of cats outside the door where we will have to drag your half dead twitching bodies into The Nursing Home where we will lovingly nurse you back to health and care for you while eating the disgusting nursing home food."
"We can try. And you would be doing no caring for me until you are well."
Then Cassandra and Julio disappeared out into the world to be greeted by a flood of cats.
