Julia's POV
"Why does his name sound familiar?" I asked Morgan.
"He was my dad's, ex wife's, son," he told us.
"Oh, so he was your step brother?" I asked.
"Yes," he said.
"Lucky you," Fin said sarcastically.
"No, not really," he said.
"Why not?" Liv asked.
"Cause he's a pervert," Morgan told us.
"I'm sorry that your step brother is a pervert," I said.
"It's alright," he said.
I went to hug him but he jumped. "Are you alright?" I asked.
"Ye-yeah," he said.
"Okay," I said. "Wait, what's today?" I asked.
"Why," Fin asked.
"I want to know," I said impatiently.
"Wednesday," he said.
"The date smart one," I said.
"May 10th," Liv said.
Just what I wanted to hear. "Shit, I forgot," I said.
"Forgot what?" They asked confused.
I didn't answer, I went to leave but Liv caught my hand. I pulled away and ran outside. I went down a bunch of side streets until I found the orphanage. I opened the door and went inside. "Can I get my box that I left here?" I asked.
"Yes, it's still in your room," the lady behind the counter said.
"Thanks," I said and ran to go get it.
I went into the room and went to the closet. I came out and had the box in my hand. I ran out of the room. "Thank you," I said again.
"Your welcome," she said and I left.
I went down different side streets until I found a cemetery and walked around it. I went to my sister's and brothers grave. They were right next to each other. I sat down between them and started balling my eyes out. Today was the day they died and the day my cat went died. All three of them in the same year too. I looked at my sister's grave and touch it. I ran my fingers lightly over her name. 'Rose.' I did the same with my brother. 'Winter.' Then I touched the box. I touched the name on the box. 'Velcro.' I loved them all. They had to leave me. All alone. No one left. All by myself. No one to play with. Be silly with. Have fun with. Drive with. Giggle with. Talk about boyfriends. Telling them when I had my first kiss. Going to each other's weddings. Having kids. Having them play together. Drinking together. I just sobbed for hours. It started getting dark. I looked at my phone. '9:36.' It read. I was going to be here until 12:00. This is what I do on this day. Nothing fun. Nothing other then crying. Sobbing. Drinking Apple juice. I didn't even eat on this day. I can't believe I forgot. I felt a hand on my back. I turned around. It was an old lady. "Why are you out here so late?" She asked.
"I'm with my- my brother an- and my sister a- an- and my c- cat is in t- this b- box," I said sobbing in between.
"Honey it'll be alright," she soothed.
"W- why are you h- here so late?" I asked trying to stop balling my eyes out.
"To see my husband," she said sadness present in her voice.
"I'm sorry for your loss," I said.
"Thank you. I'm sorry for your loss too," she said rubbing my back.
"You shouldn't be out here, it's chilly. You can come and sleep at my house for the night and I'll take you to your parents work tomorrow morning," she told me.
"T- thank you," I said.
I got up with my box and we headed to her car. I got in the passenger seat. She got in the driver's seat and started the engine. We were on our way to her house when she broke the silence. "How old are you?" She asked.
"Almost 14," I told her.
"Your like 50 years younger then me," she smiled.
I half smiled and went back to staring out the window. We arrived at her house and I got out. She opened her door and let me in. "Are you hungry?" She asked.
"No, but thank you. Can I have a drink, though?" I asked.
"Do you want a water?" She asked.
"Sure, thank you," I said to her.
"Your welcome," she said handing me a water bottle.
She went upstairs and came back down. "You can sleep in my guest room. If you'd like," she said.
"Thank you so much," I said.
"Anytime, sweetie," she said.
She walked me upstairs to the guest room. I went in and layed down. Once my head hit the pillow I was out like a light.
