" lily grace, will you please stop talking and pay attention. Has everyone finished answering the questions on the board. What is the answer to the first question lily?" Miss Huxley, who was at the front of the class, said in a stern voice. Lily looked at her scruffy empty book, then she looked pleadingly at molly.
" umm...." Lily hesitates and scans molly's work, finding the answer she smiles smugly at miss Huxley then says " the answer is 32" lily smiling at molly, mouthing thanks. Molly smiles back at her then darts her eyes back towards the front and miss Huxley.
" well done lily" Miss Huxley smiles, then she addresses the whole class " the rest of this work will be done for homework " everyone groaned but then the bell sounded and everyone in the class started to move towards the door.
" lily could I speak to you?" The teacher stated then sat at her desk. Lily groaned loudly but obeyed never the less. Lily waved to molly and walked to the teachers desk.
" what do you want ,miss?" Lily asked
" are you alright? You have been distant recently" miss Huxley ask
" I'm fine, just problems at home. That's all"
" OK, if you need to talk then I am always here for you. " miss Huxley said, smiling
" bye " lily smiled and waved. On the outside she seemed happy but going home made the day a whole lot worse.
Lily's p.o.v
It is the end of school already. Most 14 year olds love the end of school, going home. I don't want to go home but I have to, for my little sister. I need to protect her.
" bye" i say to miss Huxley. She is then only nice teacher at this school, She cares. all the other teachers don't, they just ignore me unlike miss Huxley , she always asks if I'm OK. I only live a few minuets walk from the school so I don't depend on anyone else. I walk speedily home. I have to get home before Charlotte, the door is open , that means dad is home.
I go into the living room to see dad drunk he stands up and walks over to me. " slut" he say slurred then he slaps me. Tears roll down my cheek. I run away from dad.
" I'm home" Charlotte calls out. " oh no" she runs up to me
