Willow was sat at home, in her small 2 bedroom apartment paid for by her photography job, watching Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for the 257th time. Unlike most 22 year olds, Willow had no social life; she was just a plain girl, 5ft tall, dark blonde/light brown hair resting just beneath her boobs, eyes a pool of mystery, looking brown from a distance but close up looking the same colour as her hair, whatever colour that was. Freckles across her face which made her look much younger than she was, scars on her arms and upper thighs, showing her history. Who would want to be friends with her?
Through the majority of Willow's life, the only time she felt happy was when she was reading a book, watching a film or tv show or playing video games, the only time she was happy without doing that was when she was with him. Him being the only guy that showed interest in her, the only guy who didn't mock her, the only guy she loved... But that all changed near the end of year 11 where he left her and hurt her in order to be able to play more video games with his bestfriend.
That incident wrecked her. After being with him for 14 months, he just left her. The worrying part was that he was the only friend she ever trusted. She told him everything, she told him about each breakdown, each panic attack, each dark thought and each fear. He helped her through everything, she was almost better, she hadn't cut in 2 months but then he left and all that progress went out the window, she was worse than she had ever been, she cut almost everyday, had panic attacks almost every night and thought dark thoughts almost every second.
She was ruined.
Her parents, of course, didn't understand, they just couldn't figure out why she was so hung up over a boy. They just thought it was a bad break up and that she'd be over it in a month or 2 but now 6 years later she was just over it.
She had gotten her life in order, she had a job doing what she wanted, photography made her happy, just seeing the smiles on people's faces as she took their picture or just by being around nature, it made her feel like her, she had a dog, a small black staff with one white toe, her name was Misty and by having her, it made Willow feel as if she had a reason to live.
Just as the film ended Willow got a text from her manager saying she had a shoot with a few guys in Stratford in a few hours. She got up and went to the bathroom taking a shower and washing and drying her hair. She stood in her bathroom in only a towel and looked at herself in the mirror, finally allowing her scars to be part of her. She did her make-up, just mascara and nude lip gloss, before going into her room and getting dressed into black ripped skinny jeans, a The Walking Dead hoodie, with a Calvin Klein top on underneath and triple black Huaraches on her feet. She did her hair in a quick messy bun before leaving her bedroom. She filled Misty's bowls with food and water, gave her a quick hug and then grabbed her camera case, the rest of the needed equipment would be there already, and put her phone, keys and purse in her pocket before leaving the house and getting in the cab that was ordered to her house.
The cab pulled up outside a large, fancy looking block of flats. She exited the cab and the car drove off, she walked towards the entrance with the spring wind biting her. When in the lobby she headed towards the lift and took it up to the necessary floor, excited for the job. When she knocked on the door she was greeted by one of the only people in the world she would rather die than see.
"W-Willow? It-it's been a while... Fucking hell" he said, looking as shocked as I felt.
"Yeah, it really fucking has, 6 years am I right?" Willow asked trying not to cave to the pressure of seeing him after all this time.
"Yeah... Sorry about what happened between us... I was a complete prick and I'm glad to see you now" He replied seeming actually sorry for once.
"It's okay, I'm glad to see you too" Willow replied and it was strangely true, even after everything just being near him made her happy again.
"You've changed a lot Willow, you ditched the glasses and braces I see" Simon replied chuckling slightly, they caught eyes for a split second and she started to get a weird feeling in her stomach, a feeling only he could make her feel.
"You've changed too, no more braces and no more hideous dress sense" Willow said laughing for the first time in what felt like forever at human interaction, causing him to start chuckle for a second too.
"I haven't just changed like that, I've become a better person in general too and for all the years, thinking about what I put you through, after I helped you so much, just made me feel so shitty so I changed." He said causing Willow to feel happy that he changed and hasn't hurt anyone else like he had hurt her.
"Apart from appearance wise, I don't think I've changed" Willow said feeling nostalgic, brining up the past was something that usually brought tears with it but this time she felt strong.
"Have you stopped doing the, uh, things we used to talk about?" He said feeling slightly strange to bring up such a sensitive topic.
"Yeah I have, recently anyway, I haven't cut in around 2 months" She said feeling very proud, his signature smile plastered to his face. "Can we start again? Become friends again and rediscover everything about each other? Just pretend that what happened in the past never happened?"
"Sure, I'm Simon Minter, pleasure to make your acquaintance" He said holding out his hand to shake, Willow smiled and shook his hand, feeling happy.
