There comes a time when the world needs to know

Just how much sorrow a little girl can hold

With un-shushed tears she closes her door

Back to the room where she cries in horror

The person she thought would lead her through life

The reality of the truth worse than the blade of a knife

Cold and still did that woman lie on her bed

The bed that lead to anguish and dread

How could this little girl live without her mother?

Sure, she had her father and brother

But this woman was to care and to hold

To help this girl grow and to mold

Into a beautiful young woman she should have become

But now unknown due to her state of numb

Through thick and thin is what the two said

But that was before the cancer spread.
