Chapter 19
"are you even listening?, Miss Duffy? Did you hear me?"
"mmm? " i absently asked. I had way too much on my mind at the moment, but this was my last year of school so i had to concentrate.
"Sorry, i didn't hear you."
"can you tell the class the correct answer to question ten, please, "
I looked down at my text book a flicked to the correct page, and then looked at he question.
A slow smile curled my lips, i love engineering so i know everything there is to know about the subject.
i rattled off the correct answer without even looking up.
"i'm sorry are we boring you miss Duffy? Are you missing your paparazzi shadow? " mr. Doherty sneered.
"oh yes " i said in mock sadness. "i miss them so much, do you think you could go out and get them in here, in fact there is one reporter in particular who i would like to see, his face has an appointment with my fist." By this stage my voice had risen and the smirk on the teachers face was frozen in place.
"miss duffy..." he began.
"no mr. Doherty, don't think you can judge me just because you saw a couple of pictures of me with my boyfriend in the paper, i did not pose for any of those pics and i see them as invasion of my privacy. I also don't feel comfortable seeing that look in my teachers eyes." I looked at him meaningfully. The look i was talking about made my skin crawl, i saw lust and that made me feel sick.
He cleared his throat and shuffled some papers that were on his desk.
I looked around myself, Dan was looking amused at my little rant, - he was far to used to my mood swings and outbursts. Aiden was trying not to laugh - he just found everything amusing in general.
Matt was looking at Mr. Doherty with a frown on his face and Ryan- Ryan looked absolutely furious! His fist was even clenched under his work bench.
I caught Ryans eye and gave him a reassuring smile.
He visibly relaxed, but not by much.
I gave Mr. Doherty one last glance, he was avoiding everyone's eye - still shuffling his papers on his desk.
I caught Murphys eye when i was looking away, and i didn't like what i saw there either, it was the look of a preditor. And it made me shiver.
Ryan must have caught my reaction because he gave me a concerned look.
I shook my head and got back to my work.
Today was going to be a very long day.
Lunch time was just as bad. Me and the guys would normally go up the town to get some lunch but with the reporters still stationed outside the school i didn't want to chance it.
"hey guys, go into towns without me today, i really don't want to be bothered with the reporters just yet. I'll get something to eat in the canteen with Danny" - who would obviously stay with me as he was my bodyguard as well as best friend.
"i'll stay too then." Said Ryan.
"okay then me and Aiden will be back in half an hour then." Matt said.
Aiden turned around and whacked Matt over the head. "we're staying as well you prick." He said in a joking voice.
Aw i loved my guys - even Matt - he just wasn't as sensitive as the others , but that was okay i could live with that.
