With sweaty palms and a thumping heart Jeonghan grasped the mic firmly and slowly treaded the steps onto the stage. Head hung low to hide his face, he slowly crossed the small distance between him and the stool that stood waiting. Not a soul in the cafe had noticed the nervous figure shaking in his seat until the first note of the song interrupted their conversations. Jeonghan's eyes flickered around the room, couples and friends were huddled around tables and crammed in the corners of booths, before finally settling his gaze on the boy that made his head swim. Everything that evening had led to this, every moment of Jeonghan's life had led to this. He brought the mic to his lips and allowed the wave of emotion that usually filled his thoughts flow out. "I am tired of this place, I hope people change ..."

"Okay class today we're going to be drawing what we want when we grow up! How does that sound?" The teachers voice was nothing but a nuisance to the two young boys sitting at the back of the group, their small giggles and gleeful smiles the only thing in their world.

"Jisoo, Jeonghan! Come on drawing time!" Called their teacher, finally capturing the 5 year olds' attention for long enough to get them into their seats.

With crayon in hand and a tiny tongue sticking out his mouth Jeonghan began his masterpiece. He furiously worked on the image that embodied his dream future, Jeonghan had known what to draw immediately. Jisoo only watched with an amused smile on his face as his friend desperately scratched at the paper with a yellow crayon.

Every other kid in the class had drawn themselves as a princess or superhero, a police officer or even a unicorn, but Jeonghan had drawn something far simpler.

"See it's a house on a high hill so we can see really really really far!" He explained excitedly to his best friend, "And that's us!" His short fingers prodded at the two figures on the page and he shot a beaming smile at Jisoo.

"Us?" Jisoo asked, a little confused

"Of course us silly! We're best friends right? And that means we'll be together forever and ever." Jeonghan threw a skinny arm around his friend's shoulders. Quickly grabbing a crayon Jisoo began to scribble on the other's picture.

"No, stop, you'll ruin it!" Jeonghan whined, pouting as hard as he could.

"Don't be silly, I was writing our names!" Jisoo grinned proudly at the roughly written 'Jisoo' and 'Han'.

"I see a little house on the hill and children's names," Jeonghan's voice didn't shake or quiver like it did whenever he did karaoke. Every word was laced with memories and emotions that he cherished beyond any material possession. He didn't dare look back to the boy in the crowd that made his knees shake, for fear he wouldn't be able to keep going. His grip on the mic tightened as the song continued to flow, "But everything is shattering and it's my mistake..."

"Yah!" Screeched Jeonghan as Seungcheol's pillow collided with his head, followed by laughter.

"Hey! Who dare attack Han in my presence?" The now 12-year-old Jisoo stood before the mighty dragon that was Seungcheol, his sword drawn and hair filled with feathers. A mighty thump brought an end to Seungcheol's reign of terror as the dragon collapsed onto the mattress.

"Two against one isn't fair!" He complained, rubbing the top of his head where the pillow had struck him. A taunting tongue poked out Jeonghan's mouth from behind Jisoo's back.
