Maya and I were on the couch of my living room while my parents, grandparents and Shawn were practically yelling at the dinner table.
"Riles?" Maya asked.
"Yeah?" I replied.
"Is Shawn single?"

"Not for me you goof. For my mom." She said, probably reading my mind.
"Oh. Yes he is single. But why would your mom need him? Katie and Hunter are so perfect together."
Maya shook her head.
"It's not as perfect as you and the rest of the world see it. It's..... complicated."
"But your mom is so happy with him." I interjected.
"Don't worry about it. Now, let's go eat those brownies before they devour them."
We went to eat some brownies.
