A Sparked Light

Chapter 1

(Ember's POV)
I don't know should I have moved what if the people here don't like me? What if I end up with the people who get made fun of? Who should I hang around? Do I want to play off as popular?nerdy? In between? I just don't know. Why did I switch states? My whole life at this point is a question. OK its time. I put the most confident face I had on but I was still a bit timid. I had no idea who was who. But you could tell that the group over there is popular based on the purses, clothes, hairstyles, etc. And those people over there were unpopular based on its a small group and they don't dress near as fabulous as the populars. But at least they have each other and i'm here with no body. Well and that group over there is in between, a fairly big group with unpopulars and people who could easily be a popular. So I decided to check out their group. I walked over and said "hi I'm Ember and I'm new and looking for friends and I thought I'd try you guys cause y'all seem decent." "Yeah we're probably the best group in my opinion," the seemingly to be leader said. "Yea I'm Katt and that was Chara," the seemingly to be delta said. "Well you guys seem fun to be around," I said. Chara replied "yep we're the gamers." I brightened up maybe this isn't gonna be as bad as I thought. "Cool I like to game," I said. "Then you'll fit right in with us," said Katt. First period rolled around and math just had to be my first class. But I paid attention. Cause I'm a straight A student. As class went on I noticed the guy sitting next to me was the H-O-T hot but I couldn't let that distract me. I kept glancing over and I guess he noticed because he asked "are cheating off my notes," which was a drawing of a banana with abs, and eyes and a mustache. I smiled and laughed quietly so the teacher wouldn't hear me. He gave me a smirk. I knew that was his signature smirk because the way it looked so worn. His smirk was cute so I smiled. And I guess that was an invitation to him. "I'm Jax," he said. "I'm Ember," I said glad that he finally introduced himself. Now I know that hottie's name. "Your name is awesome," he said no longer smirking but smiling. Smiling at me. "Um we better get back to um listening so we don't miss anything important," I say hoping he doesn't realize I'm blushing. I think he did but he just didn't say anything about it. Hopefully he won't remember. A little after the lesson was over the bell rang and I went to go to English but Jax walked up to me and said "your cool wanna hang out later after lunch?" I was stunned but I managed to say "sure." "Great see you later," he said and walked away. I went to English and found that Katt the girl I met earlier sat next to me. "Hey," I said hoping I didn't sound weird. "Sup, your Ember right," Katt asked. I say "yep and yours is Katt right?" "Yeap," she said. The teacher pretty much let us talk all period on occasion he had to tell me and Katt to be quiet or he'd have to move us. We'd stay quiet for like two seconds and start talking again. I wanted to tell her I liked Jax and that he asked me to hang out with him later. But I didn't know how well I could trust her yet. I have a feeling she won't tell any one but ya know there's still a risk in telling her. Since English went by so fast I had to go to world geography. Bleh. But the first thing I notice when I walk in is multiple groups of desks. So I chose one close to the front of the room and then Chara walks in and sits by meh. "Hey aren't you Ember," Chara asks. "Yep," you say. Cool now I know I have a person in each class I can talk to so far.

Then the teacher walks in and you'd think its the first day at school she'd at least hold off on work until the next day. But nope "get out your green books and turn to page one," she said. "Fuck you," I whispered. Chara heard me and laughed silently. Oops I was supposed to be getting over this habit of cussing. Oh well I don't care. In the book it said 'faults form when two tectonic plates grind together' "yeah and that fault is a baby," I said making a joke and Chara laughed. Then after every body finished reading the lesson she let us look through the book at what ever we wanted as long as it was in the book. So I spent the rest of the period talking to Chara. Then the bell rang and it was activity almost lunch. I am so excited to hang out with Jax. We practiced our instruments all activity trumpet is really fun instrument. I took a break to get a drink of water and I noticed Jax played trumpet too! Oh my gawd he's gonna be the death of me. After activity I walked to the lunch room and got a tray. I sat down and went to try the food and I spit it out it was disgusting so I tried the other things on meh tray. I ate like two things and then I saw Jax get up and as soon as he went outside I got up. And went outside.
