"Makenzie!" I heard Kayla yell. She ran over and gave me a great big bear hug. "Are you excited to start 9th grade?" She asked me. "Of course I a-" I got cut off because Kaylas boyfriend Shawn ran over and gave her a big fat kiss on the cheek. I made a face and Kayla rolled her eyes at me. I looked around. I saw many people I didn't know. But I also saw Nicole, Amanda, Lilly, Sammy, and JOSH! I've had a crush on him since 6th grade. He never seems to notice me though. Everyone makes their way inside as the bell rings.
So many thoughts are going through my mind. Who's in my classes?, Is Kayla in my classes?, Is Josh in my classes?. I try to calm down and make my feet move up the hallway.
As I walk into Mr. Dawnseys homeroom, I see Sammy, Amanda, JOSH, and of course Shawn. Shawn has been in all of my classes since 7th grade. I was hoping that would change this year, but I guess not. I look at my schedule, Yes! I'm in geometry! I go over to Shawn. "Hey Shawn are you in geometry?" I ask him. "Um. Yeah, fifth period." He says. HE'S IN MY CLASS AGAIN. "Oh cool." I reply and walk away. I think to myself, this years gonna suck.
