"We live in a society that is so delusional and judgmental, that we are made to believe, every girl deserves her very own little fairytale. It teaches us about how your first love is always the purest and the sweetest, and resembles no other. It gives us the wrong impression of love at first sight, that we are subconsciously lead to conclude that, these fantasy stories happen for everyone.
The prince saves the princess from the clutches of the evil villain. The prince then marries the princess and they ride off into the sunset on a little pony and live happily ever after in their own mighty kingdom.
But in the real world, it doesn't work that way. Happy ever afters belong only in fairy tales. The prince won't always save the princess. The villain won't always lose the fight. Cinderella won't be found by a glass slipper. Sleeping Beauty won't wake up with a true love's kiss. Snow White won't be the fairest in the land and Bella won't fall in love with the Beast.
These irrational stories are just fragments of a make believe, a false way of trapping little girls into thinking their sole purpose, to find their Knight in shining armor. This fake façade of love they are caught up in, has left countless girls heartbroken and dejected. They are shattered at the end of this fantasy of a magical relationship.
We define love as a way to escape reality, the problems we face, the only way to heal our brokenness, that we aspire to find our one true love and seldom think otherwise.
I, Alexis Haley Spark, have sworn that I would never fall prey to this fake façade of love. Fairy tales are lies, true love is a false pretense and boys, well they are hopeless.
Fairy tales are nothing but an illusion of what we think our futures should look like. We are waiting to be swept off our feet rather than standing our own ground. We are waiting to find our happy ending when we could be writing our own.
So what do you have to say about that, huh?"
"Jeez lady, when I asked if the damsel in distress would like to come back to the prince's castle to turn happy again, I was just trying to take you home cause you looked lonely."
"Oh.."
The hot, older guy that I had been ranting to, for the past hour left the bar muttering about what a crazy chick I am.
Well, I guess I don't blame him.
And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is why I'm still single.

I decided it would be pretty cool if Barbara Palvin played Alexis Spark.
