I tried to keep myself from screaming as the knife punctured through the skin on my right arm. Everything became blurry through my teary eyes, my arm becoming numb, but still the pain ran through my body and accelerated my heart rate.
"Kody?" I whispered.
I couldn't see him through the tiny slits my eyes had left for me but I knew he was there.
"Emily, don't move. They'll kill you. Can you see anything? Just shake your head don't say a word."
I shook my head as if saying no.
"Okay. I'm alright. You need to be still. Just wait and maybe people will find us and kill these things."
I could hear Kody scoot across the floor slowly as he felt for me feet, up my body to my face. I held onto him helping him keep balance in front of me.
"Emily.." He whispered into my ear, moving the hair from my sweaty face.
He kissed my lips hesitantly. I could feel him shaking.
"Kody?" I whispered as his lips backed away.
"Yes?" He replied.
"I love you and when we get out of here.. If we get out of here..."
"We will." He sounded so sure.
"... I want to be with you forever." I finished.
"Baby, I'd do anything for that."
