I sit on the chair besides the entrance and wait for someone to come out and take me to Lily. No ones came yet. Its been nearly an hour and i'm starting to get worried.

I have no idea what to do with myself. I don't have a book, my phone, anything. All i have to do is think about how this is all my fault. If i had just left her alone she wouldnt be here- have been stuck in an elevator- or have glass inside her skin.

A doctor comes out of the same door Lily was pushed through and he walks towards me. I stand up. He walks right past me and to the woman behind me. I sit down again.

I don't understand. I tell myself. I get up and walk towards the front desk, the woman spots me coming and stares at me as i approach the desk.

"Hello." She says.

"Hi" i say. Her name tag reads Melissa.

"I was wondering if i could get any information on my friend." I mutter.

"The woman that was rolled in about an hour ago?" She asks, typing on the computer in front of her.

"Yes a woman named Lily." She says.

"Well theres no word yet but judging on the way it looks they would have to cut off her clothing if they hadn't already to avoid damage to her wounds, etc." she says not looking up from her computer.

"How much longer do you think it would take before i can see her?" I ask.

"Im not sure theres no word about it on the hospitals computer network." She says.

"Please. I dont know what to do with myself." I sniffle.

"Would you like my honest opinion?" She asks, looking away from her computer and directly at me.

"Please." I whisper.

"Usually, it takes between three and four hours to get results from tests and other things we run for our patients." She says.

"Maybe you could go get her some fresh clothes for when she's released?" She suggests. I think about it. What would i do anyway? I might as well go back to the apartment and get something for her to wear. Well and my purse in the meantime.

"Thank you soo much." I say. I grab a brochure from the bookshelf and write down my cell number with the pen on the front desk.

"Call me if you get any word of how she is." I give her the brochure.

"Will do." She says, going looking back to her computer. I walk away from the desk and to the entrance, passing a family of four crying about a lost loved one i assume. I walk out the front doors and it takes a minute for my eyes to adjust to the darkness.

I need a cab. I mutter. I start walking towards the street in search for transportation. After several minutes of standing on the side of the road a yellow cab pulls over. I open the door and jump in.

"46 Seaville Road." I ask.

"You got it ma'me." He says, closing the window between us inside the car.

Its a short ride back to the apartment building, its a lot faster getting back from the hospital then getting to it. The man stops the taxi at the front of the apartment building. I get out of the car and he opens his window.

"That'll be 22.75$" he says putting his hand out the window. I reach into my pocket and pull out a twenty.

"Im sorry i left my purse in my apartment." I say shyly.

"Take this, ill be right back with the rest. " i say and turn around, walking into the building.

I hear him yell something from behind me as i walk through the large revolving doors at the from of the apartment. Once i get into the building the hotel manager approaches me.

"How is your friend doing?" He asks. I keep walking towards the stairs, he follows me.

"Not sure yet. I'll let you know when i know." I pass the elevator.

"Thank you ma'ma." He stutters. I walk past him and into the staircase.

I pass the first floor, then second. I see Lindsay walk the opposite way down the stairs. I say hi.

"Hey Lindsay. How are you?" I stop.

"Hey." She says. Stopping beside me.

"Im ok." She says.

"Same." I say.

"What are you doing back here?" She asks looking me dead in the eyes.

"I came to get some things for Lily. When she wakes up and stuff." I stutter.

"How is she?" Lindsay asks, concerned.

"Not sure. There was no word of anything when I left the hospital." I say.

"I hope shes ok." She says, smiling. I feel awkwardness setting in.

"It was nice seeing you!" I exclaim and give her a hug.

"You to! Let me know how Lilys doing!" She says.

"Will do." I laugh. Lindsay nods and keeps walking past me. I smile. I start walking up the stairs and reach the third floor.

I exit the staircase and walk down the long hallway to the door of Lily's apartment, which is still wide open. All the lights are off.

I walk in slowly and a light flickers. Darkness peers in from the windows. I turn on the closest switch to my location and the kitchen lights turn on.

I see the glass still broken on the floor with parts of Lily's clothing waiting to be picked up on top of the glass. I see blood on top of patches of glass.

I look around, someone else was in here. My purse is gone and there are pieces of clothing all over the floor in the doorway of Lily's room. I walk into the kitchen, step over the glass and grab a knife from the counter.

I walk towards the doorway and look inside, turning on the light revealing the mess of what was once Lily's room. Clothes everywhere, broken glass and a tipped over dresser in the middle of the room. I drop the knife and run outside the apartment.

"I've been robbed!" I yell.

"Help me!" I shriek. I wait a minute. No one comes to my rescue. I walk back into the apartment, remembering the front desk's number. The phone rings.

I walk towards the kitchen, where the beeping has come from. The phone rings again. I step over some pieces of glass. They make a hard noise from under my shoe. It rings again. I grab it. I press talk and hold it to my ear. I hear someone breathing.

"I knew i'd find you." He says heavily.
