I thought I would start this journey with you guys off simple. (If that's what you would call it) Why the Hawaiian you ask? Well, simple really. Right now I'm in love with all things Hawaii.
What is your current binge show on Netflix? Hawaii Five-0 is mine. I'm not really sure why, but there is just something about the cast that makes me love them. It could be the way they take care of each other. It could be the fact that I am allowed to follow them throughout their lives, which makes me feel connected. Makes me feel like Ohana to them.
I also really have an appreciation for the Hawaiian culture. They treat each other with so much respect. It seems like authenticity is a vital attribute in their culture. I want to be like that. With my family. With my friends. I feel as though we are called to connect with each other on a much deeper level. Sometimes it can be painful, but also good. You can learn from anything and everything. I truly believe that. Change your perspective. But hey; don't confuse yourself. Don't over complicate it.
That is what I am currently walking through. Discerning the difference between things I really need to dig into, but also the things I need to leave as they are. Which is the better way to understand what is being communicated? Does it depend on that distinguished moment/situation? What are some ways that you guys keep yourself on track, by not over analyzing? Or what are some ways that you dig deeper into something that is on your heart so you can better understand what you are feeling?
I am going to leave you with that.
Yes, this is very short. I am still unsure of the direction that I'm headed in with this little book/project. I don't want to overwhelm anyone when I'm still a little confused myself.
PM me if you want to pick my brain, or if you have any ideas and you sort of see where I am headed. It may take some time for this pick up off the ground but even if I have a small audience of people to walk through life with, that would be wonderful. We don't have to believe in the same things. I would love to connect with you anyway.
