Amy's POV
I stepped out of the car and shut the door a little too hard. I glanced at Devon but her gaze was on something else. I walked to her and gently pulled her arm. She looked at me and we started walking. As we walked, I looked around at the groups of people. Some of them looked at us but most of them didn't even notice us. There was one group, three guys wearing black and smoking, that kept watching my sister.
I sighed, "I'm going to find my first class."
Devon nodded and I walked towards the school. As I walked, I pulled my schedule out of the side pocket of my backpack. I frowned. My first class just had to be History. I walked to the classroom and pushed through the door. An older woman sat at the desk in the front of the room. She looked up at me and smiled. She stood up and walked towards me.
"Hello. I am Mrs. Winters. I'm hoping to help you become eager to learn history. You may take a seat anywhere you would like", she seemed slightly nervous.
I smiled at her and walked towards the back of the room. I sat down and pulled my History notebook out. I set it on the desk and pulled out a pencil. Someone sat next to me but I ignored them.
"Hey, you were with that Devon chick, weren't you?", someone asked.
I looked up at the boy next to me. I glared at him. He was one of the guys I saw smoking earlier. I decided to turn away and ignore his question. I guess he didn't like being ignored because he poked my arm.
"I asked you a question. You should probably answer it", he demanded.
I looked at him, "Yes. I was. It would be greatly appreciated if you would stay far away from her."
"Why would I do that?", he questioned.
"Because my sister has been through enough without you adding more to her plate", I snapped.
"Why do you think I would do something like that?", he asked, smirking deviously.
"That smirk, to start with", I replied, glaring at him. Other people started filing into the room and I turned away from the boy. I tried to pay attention once class started, but the boy kept talking to me and when I would ignore him, he would poke me. After a few minutes of him bugging me, I decided to confront him.
"Lasciami in pace o ho intenzione di farti del male", I hissed. I smirked at his confusion.
"What does that mean?", he questioned.
"Non ti piacerebbe sapere", I grinned evilly. He glared at me. He opened his mouth to speak but the bell rang and I hopped up.
"Spero di non rivederti più", I whispered and started walking towards the door. I heard a fist slam down on a desk and flinched as I walked out into the hall. I couldn't help but smirk.
I walked to my next class with my head held high, proud of myself for making that boy, whatever his name is, upset. My next class was English. I don't typically like English classes, but it's only my first day here so what could go wrong? My teacher greeted me and had me sit wherever I felt comfortable. I nodded and took a seat in the middle of the classroom.
Class wasn't too bad and I made it out alive. I stepped out of the room and looked down at my schedule. Next was one of my favorite classes, Italian. I really liked Italian. I was good at it.
"Ciao", my teacher greeted as I walked in.
"Ciao, mi chiamo Amy", I replied. She smiled.
"Sei come fluente?", she asked.
"Molto, ma sto ancora imparando", I replied.
"Beh, sono contento di avere qualcuno che parla italiano", she said, "Il mio nome è la signora Wilmore."
"È bello conoscerti", I grinned happily.
"Prendere un sedile dove desideri", she said. I nodded and walked to a seat in the front of the class. I bounced in my seat as I waited for class to start. People started to pile in and I grinned happily. Even after class started I was bouncing in my seat. I listened closely but most of it was stuff I knew. My mind began to wander to other things. Like the boy from history. He knew Devon's name, meaning he spoke to her and she spoke to him. I didn't like that thought. I just hope it was a one time thing. I don't want my sister to become like those guys. I felt my eyes burn as I blinked away tears. I know my sister wouldn't do anything with them. She wouldn't risk it. She wouldn't risk becoming like them or our father. I hope.
I was so wrapped up my thought that I didn't hear the bell ring. A girl with light blonde hair tapped on my arm. I looked up at her.
"Hey. The bell rang", she said. I smiled at her and nodded. I stood up and walked out the door.
"So what's your name?", she asked.
"Amy. Thank you for letting me know the bell rang. I didn't even hear it", I replied.
"That's happens when you get lost in your thoughts", she grinned.
"Was it that obvious?", I asked. She nodded and I felt heat creep into my cheeks.
"Don't worry, I'm good at noticing those kinds of things so I'm sure that no one else noticed", she said. I nodded.
"What's your name?", I asked.
"Tina", she answered.
"So what class do you have next, Tina?", I asked.
"Chemistry", she grimaced, "One of my least favorite classes." I pulled out my schedule.
"I also have chemistry", I said, smiling at her.
"Maybe we can sit next to each other", she smiled hopefully. We walked into class and met the teacher, Mr. Jones. Luckily we got to choose our seats. Tina and I sat next to each other.
"So, anything interesting I need to know about you?", she asked.
"I like art, I'm pretty fluent in Italian, and I have an older sister named Devon", I answered.
"Cool", she nodded.
"What about you?", I questioned.
"I like history, don't like sports, and love the dark", she said.
"I love to go outside at night. I love the moon and stars", I said.
"Me too. I also like horses", she smiled widely.
"I like wolves and cats", I giggled out.
"Girls, class is about to start so please quiet down", Mr. Jones called to us. We giggled and he shot us a glare. All through class we talked quietly so that Mr. Jones wouldn't hear us. Tina told me that she was an only child and her parents were always gone on trips.
"It gets pretty lonely but I always find a way to entertain myself", she explained.
"I'm sorry, Tina. Maybe you could come hang out at my house with Devon and I", I answered, wanting to make her feel better.
"Thank you, Amy. I will definitely take you up on that", she smiled softly.
"We could have sleepovers where we could talk about boy and do our nails", I was excited.
"Don't forget about watching movies and eating junk food!", she exclaimed. I smiled. The bell rang and I smiled at Tina.
"See you later", I said. She smiled and nodded before walking out. I slowly walked out behind her and the rest of the class ran out too. It was the first day of school and I already had a friend. I couldn't wait to tell Devon.
