A Young Heart

Chapter 1

Maya had just arrived to class. Their teacher was a sub and the sub allowed them to do any work they wanted to do and sit anywhere they would like.

Lucas decided to sit next to Maya since she was the first person to talk to him when he first got here. Lucas and Maya were best friends and have been since the first day of school. They could never be split apart, only by his girlfriend Riley who is also one of Mayas best friends.

Maya cherished her friendship with both of them. Sadly Riley got really uncomfortable with how close Maya and Lucas were getting. Riley had always told Lucas to distance himself from Maya but Lucas always talked back to her saying that nothing bad would happen. Lucas had always assured her that they were only friends and he loved her and only her.

During the class, Maya and Lucas  were laughing the whole time. Lucas was talking about how Riley does all these things that piss him off.
"Its just that she wont let me hang with anyone over the weekend or talk to any girls. But shes aloud to talk to any guys and go anywhere." Lucas always called Riley Hypocritical because she was.

Maya didnt wanna say anything due to the fact she was still friends with Riley. After class they walked and talked to english class together. When they got to class Riley asked to talk to Lucas before class. Lucas placed down his stuff and went with Riley.

Maya got very worried and confused because Riley gave her the stink eye before walking out of class.

Lucas came back and looked really upset with a note in his hand. He sat at the table that had Maya and Farkle. Riley didn't sit with them because the teacher knew that would cause talking and drama. Lucas looked at Maya.

"Hey Maya? Riley said we cant be best friends anymore. She says we are getting too close and hates the fact we talk alot." He looked really upset and knew it was breaking both of their hearts.

"Lucas, if I am breaking you guys up, drop me. I dont wanna be a the cause of any drama." Maya seemed like she was crying but holding it back. Farkle noticed and talked to Lucas.

"Lucas, doesn't that mean that Riley doesnt trust you? I mean, you shouldn't end your friendship with Maya because of your girlfriend."
"You make a great point, but I was never going to end my friendship with Maya. I was basically saying we got to convince Riley to see we stopped."

Maya turned around and looked at Riley. Riley ignored it, whipped her hair and just started talking to other people.

After class, Maya walked up to Riley and talked to her about why she doesn't her and Lucas talking anymore.

Riley just looked at her straight in the eyes and told her "Lucas loves me and only me. He doesnt need a hoe like you to make him happy. All he needs is me. If you dont leave him alone, I will make you."

Maya had this shock on her face and ran away crying. Lucas was behind Riley the whole and grabbed went her wrist to talk to her.

Maya ran to the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror and fixed her makeup.

No matter what Riley says.. You and Lucas are still friends.. but what will Riley do if she doesn't stop?

Maya walked out of the bathroom and saw Lucas standing outside of it. Lucas looked at her and hugged her. Maya hugged him back.
"Trust me Maya.. everything will be okay. She wont hurt you. And I won't let her do anything. I promise." Maya smiled.
