Chapter 4: The Unexpected Battle

Dark Soul Kingdom

"Have you found her yet?"

Two dark figures appeared and kneeled before a man.

"We have not. We just need a little more time." one of the figures said.

"We are running out of time! We need her to make this plan successful!" He banged his hand on a table. The two figures flinched.

"Yes, sir. We will find her immediately." the second figure said.
The two figures disappeared instantly leaving the man.

"My wish will become true."

Back to the forest Zuri is training in

"Level up!" I shouted as I threw my hands in the air. Eden was exhausted after fighting several wolves. She got up to level 4 and I was level 5.
"Leveling up takes longer than I thought." I said a little disappointed.

I expected leveling up to be a piece of cake and get strong really quickly. But that thought was destroyed after fighting monsters.

"Um. I have one thing to say..." Eden sounded a little nervous.

"What?" I asked confused.

"Haven't you notice what time it is?"

I look up through the trees to see the sky. The sky was deep black and stars shining behind clouds.

"Oh no" I said quietly.

"That is an 'oh no'! You said we were going to get out of here by dark! Look at how dark it is!"

"Okay! We can go now. Let's get out of here." I said trying to calm her down.

Then a shadow appeared to our left behind a tree. At first it was small so I got my sword out. This will be easy, I thought as I watched the shadow come closer towards us.

As the shadow came closer, it became larger and larger. The shadow was almost 3 times bigger than us. Or maybe not, I thought as I looked up at the shadow.

"Great. Now we are going to fight a monster the size of a bear" Eden got ready to fight.

She waved her hand in a circle as an aura appeared following the path her hand made. She then swung her arm back to make the handle of her staff.

She grabbed the center of a shape that looked like a long stick. Then the aura broke apart and her staff appeared as if it was covered in the aura.

The aura faded away as she hit the bottom of her staff on the floor. The staff was like a big wooden stick and the top was arched and held a pink orb.

The monster came out of the shadows and roared at us. Of all monsters it was a giant bear. It looked deadly with arrows all over its back. Cuts

"It doesn't look too friendly." I said as I backed up a little.

"You think? I think it wants to kill us!" Eden yelled at me.

I backed up, still looking at the bear who was glarin at us. Then the bear got on its four legs and swung it's huge paw at me.

I managed to dodge the first swing and slashed the bear with my sword. The bear didn't react as if nothing happened.

Of course. This is the Thin Blade, I thought. It won't do anything to a monster that big. Eden raised her staff and created a huge arrow, made of her pink aura, that looked like a spade and sent the arrow flying towards the bear.

The bear didn't see it and took the hit. The bear fell to the ground making the ground shake a little.

"Yeah!" Eden jumped up and down.

"I defeated you, you big ugly bear!"

Then the bear got up and swung his big paw at Eden and hit her towards a tree.

"Eden!" I shouted as I stood there stunned.

The bear then looked at me as if it was my turn. I got my sword ready and waited for the bear to charge at me. And it did after a while, then I swung my sword scratching it's right eye.

The bear roared in pain and back away. I tried to get to Eden but was hit by a huge paw. I stop myself from bumping into any trees but tripped over a big rock causing me to fall to the ground.

I sit up and look up to see where the bear was. I looked to the left towards Eden, but there was no bear. Then I looked around to look for it, then the bear was to my right in midair about to get me.

I'm done for, I think as I try to get my sword. I knew I wouldn't make it even if I get my sword.

"Safe Gaurd!"

A big magic shield appeared in front of me before the bear could get me. It was gold and shined so bright that it made me blind for a few seconds.

It blocked the bear's hit and knocked it back. The bear was confused and stayed back away from the shield. The shield faded as seconds passed. I stared at the shield as it faded in confusion.

"Geez. Monsters getting energetic at night time."

I look to my right to see three people standing in front of a tree looking at the bear.

There was a cleric, an archer, and a mage. The cleric was very tall and had a book in her hand. She looked serious and kind of scared me a little.

The archer had his bow and arrow ready to take aim arrows the bear. The mage was standing with his staff on his shoulder.

A team? I think.

"Monsters are always hiding in the day time and when it's night they come out? Seriously." the mage spoke breaking the silence.

The bear glared at the team and charged at them.

"Alright! Let's go!" The mage charged at the bear.

The archer took aim at the bear and shot his arrow at the bear. The cleric ran towards me and kneeled beside me.

"You okay?" She asked as she healed me.

"Y-yeah"

Then I thought of Eden.

"Can you heal my friend over there?"

I pointed to Eden that was on the ground. The cleric nodded and rushed over to her. I got up feeling no pain that I got from the bear.

I got my sword and rushed towards the bear to help defeat it. The bear roared as the mage, the archer and I charged at the beast.
