Darkness, factory, loud noises. I don't really know what this place is. I'm just laying here in a bin. It's dark, and cold in here. It smells like rubber, and so do I. Rubber is a weird smell. Kinda smells like, I don't know what it smells like, I've only been in this world for five minutes now! How smart do you think I am? I'm only a shoe. Sheesh. Anyway, I went over to a thing called a conveyor belt, it slid me across to a box, the box that I was packaged in. All of a sudden, I was bouncing up and down, and I was moving, I was in a semi.

I woke up and I was on a shelf, I could see people

walking past me. All of a sudden, I heard a little kid say, "Look mommy, I want those shoes!" Then there was brightness. Then I smelled something very bad. I think it was the kid's foot. Yuck!

I could see everywhere he was going. Oh no, not the bathroom! Well I learned one thing about that kid, he doesn't know how to aim. Now he is about to go to the store with his mom. "Get those dirty things off your feet, we'll have to wash them up tonight!" The mother yelled. He slowly slid me off his feet. I was home alone, in somebody else's home.

I decided I might as well explore the place, I mean it's the least I can do here. This house is way bigger than I thought it was. Hopefully I don't get lost. I start exploring and before I knew it, the front door creaked open. They were back, and I wasn't in the spot I was when I left. Well, maybe if I just sit in a corner, nobody will notice.

Well, somebody did end up noticing. I heard the little boy screaming "MOMMY WHERE ARE MY SHOES? I NEED MY SHOES RIGHT NOW, FIND THEM!" The little boy obviously loved me. The little boy and his mom started looking around. Right when the little boy found me, he picked me up and hugged and kissed me. Ugh kids these days.

Oh no, they went to the pet store. They bought a cat! I can't stand cats. I have never been around a cat, but the name just sounds like its evil so that's what I might as well think. The cat was tiny, it was the size of me. They named it buttercup.
