As I walked into school the next morning, I saw Kayla walking past with the "popular girls", Sydney, Ashley, and Jennifer. I'll give it a shot... "Hey Kayla!" I yelled. She looked at me and rolled her eyes. Is she embarrassed that shes friends with me? I'll worry about it later. I walked upstairs and into my homeroom. Shawn looked sad. I walked up to him and said, "Hey whats wrong?" "Kayla broke up with me." He replied sadly. "Oh, I'm sorry Shawn." I tried to sound sympathetic. "Eh It's okay, I'm gonna ask out Annie tomorrow." He said, more happy. "Annie?" I didn't know her. "Yeah, the new girl." That's what I thought... "Good for you." Was all I could think to say.

Now I was thinking about Kayla. We had been best friends since second grade. We haven't gotten into one fight. I honestly thought we were true best friends. But I guess not. I will talk to her at lunch if shes not with "the populars". They always seem to bring out the worst in people.
