The Bridge

Chapter 1 The Meeting

We just got back from Ohio. Venny was complaing of his taco being too soggy. Jane was screaming at Dan to shut up and stop singing. I haven't introduced myself I'm Kimberly but call me Kim.
See we didn't know there was an event that would change all our lives.
Dan was driving the van as we were chasing the biggest tornado this century. The storm was a category 6 with lightning everywhere, tornadoes as large as a mountain. Jane was charting the tornadoes as Venny was spotting, me I was the one taking pictures. We were chasing tornado Zeus, this one was like no other he would seem like it would stop for a couple a seconds then keep moving.
Dan decided to move closer to Zeus, we started to get swept up by the wind. We started screaming and crying, Jane held my hand and said "Tell mom I love her." At the same moment the van split apart and I screamed to Jane "I love you." Dan and Jane flew right in to Zeus. Venny and I grab the closest thing which was the bridge near the river. Venny was crying and I was screaming for Jane but she was no where in sight.
Finally the wind stopped and Venny and I let go of the bridge. I went to go look for Jane while Venny went to go look for Dan. We spent hours looking looking at all the dead bodies and the destroyed land. Right as we were going to give up I found Jane she was dead, she loose her legs and bled out to death from a beam threw her stomach. We didn't find Dan but we left and told Dan's Family, and I told my mom about Jane.
What happen next I couldn't believe it. Venny and I went back home. My home is an apartment with my cat Sammy. It was full of photos of Jane and I. When I was younger I wanted to be a photographer but my sister wanted to be a storm chaser. We combined are careers, we had so many adventures I can't believe she's gone. Sammy came in and hissed at the window I didn't know what was into him. Then I looked it was a ball of blue fire. I touched and it disappeared then it appeared across the room. I followed it we got to the edge of the woods which never existed.
I began to walk into the woods, then a deer came up and started talking. He said "Welcome my dear I welcome you to my world." Then everything went black. When I woke up I was on a soft patch of moss. I went to get up but I felt woozy so I sat still. Finally it went away so I stood back up and went out of the house. I was on the tree tops, I could see strange birds flying in the distance. The trees houses seem to go on forever. "Hello my dear." That voice sounds finally, as I turn around the deer that I met at the edge of the woods. "How was your rest my dear?" "Good, who are you, where am I?" "My dear you are at 'Unknown', and I am Tiberous the guardian of the living." We started to walk and he offer me a tour and I accepted. A couple hours later we got back and I didn't know something could be so gorgeous. The trees had leaves as orange as the sun. The grass was as green as peas, and the were so many sounds it was beautiful. The birds were chirping and the wind sang a beautiful tune that I never heard before. When we got back the sun was setting and all the animals went to rest. Tiberous showed me my room and it was beautiful the walls were a light pink. My bed was a moss blanket with wooden frame. In the room was a mirror and a tiny brush.
I went to bed and it was the most comfortable thing I ever felt. I had a dream of Jane and I when we were little we were catching fireflies. I felt the warm air seeping through my skin. All of a sudden Jane started to sink into the ground I put my hand out and I couldn't get her out. Then I woke up and it was dawn, the birds were chirping and the crickets just went to bed. I went to get some fresh air and there was the most prettiest rainbow I've ever seen. I wish I had my camera to capture this moment to show Jane she would love this. A butterfly flew onto the rail and let me touch it then it flew away but a swam came and swept me away. I was flying on thousands of butterflies, I could touch the sky literally. We kept going I look down and it look like I was in an airplane. The clouds started to form weirdly and the butterflies bolted down. The ground was getting closer and closer, faster and faster the butterflies pulled up at the last minute. I felled off into a lake I swam back to shore and in the corner I saw a well it said "see something one last time." I look in the well and said Jane just see if worked, nothing happened so I turned around and then I heard bubbles. It was the well and I saw something it was Jane! I can't believe my eyes she started to say hello but I went to close and the bubbles went away it was gone. I fell onto the ground and weep till the sun went down. I walk home and it was about ten by time I got home.
I was in the van again and Jane was there. This time she was looking the other way and the van started to get lifted and Jane look at me and said, "I hate you so much why did you let this happen to me? Why didn't you hold on to me and save me? You don't love me and you will never love me!" As she said that I tried to reach out for her buy I couldn't move or speak all I could do was scream in my head but she couldn't hear me but I got swept away into the tornado. "Ah" I was sweating and breathing hard it was just dream I said to myself. It was midday by time I got up so I decorated my room a little I founded some berries and painted it and got flowers and stuck them on the wall everywhere. "That's beautiful my dear, you have a rare talent." Why thank you Tiberous, Jane and I used to paint all the time. "Oh I'm sorry if I upset you." No no I need to talk about her. Tiberous walk out the room and I left too, I walk around and founded a doe and she couldn't talk. So I walked away and sat near a river and watch the fish fly. The frogs were croaking and the tadpoles were swimming between my toes. The river was so calm and it just pitter pattered and the waterfalls were beautiful. I lost track of time and it was about three by time I got up. I started to walk when I heard a stick break I turn around quickly and there was that blue light again. I started to follow it but I realized it lead to a dark forest so I turn around and left. I ran to a hill and I saw Tiberous in the distance so I ran to him he said,"Where have you been your late for supper again come on there's someone special I want you to meet." We went to the center of the town and ate then a tiger appeared. Tiberous told me that she was the Queen and her name is Demetre. "Hello young one you most the human I heard so much from you. You must tried from your long journey come join me to my palace."
