Third Person POV (Three weeks after Dez moves in with Nat)

Nat's alarm goes off, swearing and grumbling, she slowly gets up and makes her way to the living room. She stops when she hears Dez talking to someone. "Are you crazy Nines? You can't be here!"
"I just wanted to make sure she's okay..."
"She's fine, that's what I'm here for."
He sighs and runs his hand through his short hair, "I know I just... It's been a while since I've talked to her."

Dez shakes her head, "I know, and I've been watching her go to and from school. She's FINE, now leave," he doesn't say anything "and tell Damsel I will call her tonight when Nat's in class."
"You should. You know how she gets when she's pissed off" he laughs. It dies down as he looks in the direction of Natalie's room.

Dez stands in front of him, "don't think about it. You might love her, but she's MY best friend," she says through clenched teeth, "don't think I won't beat the shit out of you."

Normal POV
I stand there listening to them talk with my eyes wide (what the hell? How do they know each other? Why is Nines in my apartment? And what the hell are they talking about?) I shake my head and give a loud and fake yawn. "Morning," I say making my way to the kitchen.
"Good morning love," she says from the couch, "I fed Loki already."
"Thanks, that's why he didn't come into my room and meow in my face," we both laugh, "want some waffles?"
"No thanks, I already ate," she says quietly.
"You sure? You love waffles."
"Yea," (weird...) I shrug and start making the batter.
"Soo..." I want to ask her about Nines but, "if you knew something I didn't, you would tell me right?"
"Of course. You're like a sister to me," she smiles.
I take a deep breath. "Do you know Nines?" (Shit, shit! Nat you idiot)
She looks me with wide eyes, "you mean the guy you told me about?" She takes a few minutes to think, then sighs, "yea. Sorry, I didn't tell you, it doesn't really matter does it?"
"No, I just heard you talking to him on the phone this morning," (shit, shit, shit!)
She looks pale but nods "Oh yea, sorry did I wake you up?"
"No, its okay."
"Um, I'm going to get in the shower," she runs to the bathroom (I. am. stupid.).

Dez's POV

After Nat finally leaves for school I pack up my stuff to follow her. It's been like this every day, she leaves, I get my phone and laptop then follow at a safe distance to everywhere she goes. It sounds creepy, I know, but it's what Nines wants and that's enough for me considering I want her safe too.
Once Nat gets to her first class I find a bench and take the time to look at my phone. *5 missed calls* pops onto my screen and I know Damsel has been calling me all morning. I suck it up and give her a call since I have an hour to kill.
"Hey baby," I say shyly, waiting for the shit storm to start.
"Don't 'hey baby' me, where the fuck have you been?"
"I'm staying at Nat's place to make sure she's safe. I told you that and the only reason I don't call is that it's a little suspicious as to what we are if she would hear too much,"
"You know I don't say anything that would let her know what we are,"
"Fine come over tonight for 'dinner', you do not hurt her and watch the fangs, she's getting weird about them considering everyone she has been around having them,"
"Good I miss you, but this conversation isn't over, we have to talk once she goes to sleep,"
"I know. We will talk, I need food anyway and we can't have sex at the apartment and I know it is time for some make-up sexy stuff," she laughs and hangs up telling me to text her where to go tonight. This might be a giant mistake but damn I have to see Damsel again, I miss her but I can't leave Nat alone to long. I hope Nines gets this under control quickly so we can all go back to normal.

The rest of the day is normal as it always is, Nat never sees me and I come home 10 minutes after she gets home to make it look like I wasn't stalking her all day.
"Hey Nat, is it okay if Damsel comes over for dinner? I'll clean the apartment up and do the cooking," I say cutely.
"Um, the girl you said you were taking a break from?" she asks.
"Yeah, we decided to try again. Just don't mention the break please," I lie quickly.
"Okay, yeah sure just no sex and of course I won't say anything," she seems unsure but agrees with a laugh.
"Thank you, and I know I have that covered," I wink and kiss her on the cheek before running to the kitchen for the cleaning supplies.
