L x Light, i hate everything about you.

~Third person~

Light stared at the man he was connected to by a 5 foot long chain.
He watched how the man's Raven hair shined in the computer light, and how he kept eating his sweets.
Fuck he was beautiful...

L pov.

'Is Light-kun staring?'
I could feel his eyes on me. I won't bother checking if he really was staring at me, it doesn't matter.
He's probably Kira. He wants to kill me.

Light pov.

I was snapped out of the trance I was in, as L sighed deeply and hugged his knees.
"Light-kun?" He looked at me.

"What is it Ryuzaki?"

"Would you mind coming to the roof with me?"

The roof? It's raining.. why on earth would he want to-

"Please, Light-kun?"

Please.. he said..

"Yeah.. okay."

He got up, somehow gracefully.

I followed him to the roof, he walked to the edge, basically dragging me with him.

He looks up to the sky and closes his eyes, the rain drops hitting his face, soaking through his clothes.

He looked like an angel.

"Light-kun. I.."

"Yes Ryuzaki?"

"If you really are Kira.. you've basically already killed me."

My eyes widened slightly, No, Light, control yourself.
But what could he mean?

"Now, as I speak to you. Think of yourself as Kira. Think that I know about you being Kira. Then listen to what I'm going to say."

L said, and looked at me, I stared at him, a little confused and startled, but collected myself and nodded. Kira.

He looked back up at the sky and sighed.

"I.. I hate everything about you." He whispered to the sky.

I felt a pang in my heart. Hate. Of course he'd hate Kira.

"But I love you.. Light-kun."
He looked back at me, sadness and love in his eyes.

I wanted to run away and kiss him at the same time. My heart and mind racing. He hates Kira, but loves me. He thinks I'm Kira. He must be in so much pain.

L pov.

For once in my life, I'm going to do something only for myself.

I stepped back from him and looked up at him.

"Light. For once in my life, in going to be selfish."

I looked deep into his eyes.

"I'm dropping out of the Kira investigation."

Lights eyes widened.

"You what?" He asked and stared at me.

"I quit. Light. I've served the humanity enough for a lifetime.
And if you are Kira.. I'd have to give you a death sentence. I can't do that, Light. If you die, the rest of me may die as well."

I looked up at the gray sky.

Light pov.

He quits?.. that means I won't have to kill him!
In my mind, I was smiling.
On the outside, I stayed expressionless, except for my widened eyes.

L took a key from his pocket, and took the hand cuff off of his wrist, then walked over to me, took my hand, and gently took the cuff off.

"I'm not allowed to participate in the case anymore. Before we came to the roof, I sent in my resignation letter. I'm not L anymore."

L pov.

He stared at me.

"Now.. I'm not allowed to see any files or proof of the investigation anymore. I can assure you that i am speaking the truth."

He stayed silent, and looked into my eyes, his eyes showing deep emotions.

"Before I leave tonight.. I love you. I don't want you to die. But tell me, Light. Was i correct? Are you Kira?"

Light pov.

I.. fuck it. I don't care anymore. He's all I want. If there's even a 5% chance that he really loves me, I'll take that chance.

"I am Kira."

L pov.

I smiled and looked up again.
I was right. Now I can leave the case with peace.

"My name is Lawliet."

I looked at Light, he was shaking.

"Lawliet.. do you still love me? Knowing I'm Kira?"

"Yes Light. I do love you. And I'm not afraid of you."
