"Yoongi-yah! Please, this is the last one!!" I breathed out, feeling tired after following him all around the school.
He looked at me with the annoyed look, but I couldn't care less. Being the head journalist of the school's magazine, I needed to chase after information as detailed as possible, even if that meant stalking my own best friend from 7.30 AM to 2.45 PM.
Yoongi sighed. "This is why I don't want to perform during the school festival. Especially when we have you as the journalist." He huffed, but I just grinned and patted the spot beside me on the bench. He reluctantly obeyed my gesture.
"Come on, please help your best friend for this one, okay?" I released my aegyo, and he cringed. He pushed back my forehead with his finger. "Okay, okay. Now stop with the aegyo already."
After he compromised with me, we restarted the unfinished interview. I read the list of questions again that the others had prepared, and I couldn't help but to choke at my saliva after reading the last question. "Are you okay, Ami-yah?" Yoongi asked worriedly. I forced a smile and nodded my head.
Q10. We've heard that you're close with Park Ami, our Head Journalist. To respond to this rumor, do you have anyone you like? Or are you dating anyone? [LAR]
I read the initial beside the question. Lee Aeri.
I silently cursed at my closest friend in the Journalism club, Aeri. She knew my hidden feelings for my best friend, Yoongi, so she'd find a way to invade his life and ask personal questions like this. Because the Journalism club's target audience was the students, the teachers didn't really care what kind of questions were asked to the people.
I cleared my throat and proceeded to ask the eighth question, ignoring the fluttering feeling inside my stomach.
"How did you feel like when you were on the stage?" I read the question out loud, preparing my pen to scribble down his answer, despite having a recorder in front of us.
He smiled unknowingly. "It felt... amazing. I've been wanting to do this for a long time, so I was really glad to be given the opportunity from the school to showcase my work." I nodded, then took notes on his expression and body gestures for an add-on for his interview page. Small details like these could help the people whose job was to write the final drafts for the magazines.
Ninth question. "We heard that you've actually been making rap songs for a long time. What are your secrets to make such good songs, like the one you performed on the school festival?" It was a question from me, so I really anticipated his answer.
He purred, searching for the right words to answer the question. "I think it's to always search for more inspirations, and don't limit yourself to one theme or topic, because music can be about everything. It doesn't have to be about love. It can be about school, your family, the best moment of your life, your pet; everything. As long as you pour your heart out on something you're working on, I believe that your work can be the best artwork ever created."
I smiled hearing his answer. This is Min Yoongi that I know, I thought. Ever since we became best friends, I knew that behind his lazy face and drooping eyes, he was a really hardworking guy, who was serious in what he wanted to do.
I broke out from my trance and braced myself to ask the last question. "We've heard that you're close to... a classmate of yours," I tried to rephrase the question,"to respond to this rumor, do you have anyone you like? Or are you dating anyone?"
Yoongi immediately paused the voice recorder. "Did Aeri ask this question?" He directed his sharp gaze at me. I gulped down and nodded. He sighed. "That kid..." he mumbled.
We both knew so well that Aeri had been trying to put us together. But what had been holding me back from confessing was because our status as best friends. If he rejected me, that'd ruin our friendship, and other students would start rumors if we became distant.
We both sat in silence for a moment. "Ami, do you actually want to know the answer?" He asked, seeming to be able to read my mind now. I shrugged, trying to ignore the butterflies inside my stomach. It wasn't a pleasing feeling; they were the perturbing butterflies.
Yoongi suddenly opened his mouth. "I do have someone that I like." He pressed the 'Play' button again. My heart was racing so fast I thought I was dying. The butterflies seemed to sense this and they started to creep to my diaphragm area. I didn't want to know the answer.
"She's sitting right in front of me, asking a really stupid yet obvious question, whose answer is definitely her."
Eh?
"W-What?" My cheeks started to feel hot, and I unconsciously dropped my pen. Suddenly, his face became really close to me, and I could also sense his nervousness around us. I beamed.
"I like you, Park Ami. I wonder how come you haven't realized it until now. I have a really stupid best friend." He poked my forehead again. I pouted.
"I guess you're stupid too, then." I couldn't hide my grin. He furrowed his eyebrows.
"I like you too, you punk." I pecked his cheek, then returned to my notepad with rosy cheeks and a big grin.
Before I could make a note of his answer, he grabbed my pen and swiftly turned my head around so that I faced him, and the next thing was what I didn't expect.
His lips collided with mine, and they somehow molded mine perfectly. I could feel that he was smirking in the kiss, and after what felt like a year (even though it was only five seconds or so), he pulled back from me.
I still could feel his breath on my now-swollen lips. He chuckled. "Do you want to take notes on the kiss too for the magazine, or-" I pecked his lips one more time.
"Let's keep this between ourselves," I grinned.
